The young woman didn't dare look back. She wiped blood from her lip and clutched the tiny piece of paper in her hand, balling it up so it wouldn't fall from her numb fingers. The fiery glow of the burning car illuminated the night; the heat threatened to scorch her as she stumbled away into the darkness.

I feel like it is awkward and can be cleaned up but not sure) Any help?

An orange glow illuminated the night as the car became engulfed in flames, but the young woman didn’t dare look back. She wiped the blood from her lip and continued into the darkness down the street, clutching the tiny piece of paper between her fingertips.

So I m thinking it s a romantic suspense but not sure. It is about a fugitive on the run, but she rekindles a relationship with her ex (who is also a criminal and knows how to make fake ID s, etc). I flash back to when they were kids, how they met, and kind of how they became the way they are. It is a very deeply emotional story of how they grew up. and then flash back to the present where they are running from the law. There is bad language, violence, but not smut (just implied but nothing in detail). I m thinking my target audience would be women in their 20 s and 30 s...if anything it reminds me of Gone Girl but not SO harsh, a lot more touching and feelsy. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's actually not my favorite name but I heard it on a girl and just thought it was interesting and different. Not sure if I'd use it.

Random question for my story...for photographers. So...in the book my character takes a bunch of photos on her road trip. She's traveling with someone, and he steals her camera/or film and later at the end has her photos framed etc etc. Question, does he have to steal the entire camera or can he just take the film? Would that ruin all of the photos? Thanks!

To sum up it's about a girl overcoming grief, and goes on an epic road trip and finds romance along the way.

Natalie Sullivan has just lost the love of her life, Luke, in a tragic car accident. Instead of taking time to grieve, Natalie decides to go straight from the funeral on an epic road trip to all of the places her and Luke talked about going but never got the chance; including Zion National Park, the Salton Sea, Anza Borrego Desert, and more. Just as she is about to leave, she has car trouble, and the only way she can embark on this journey, is to go with Luke’s younger and abrasive brother Rhys, who drinks whiskey out of a coffee mug and is practically a stranger. Despite her disdain for him, Rhys, a seasoned outdoorsman, becomes Natalie’s guide on this road trip, and through this journey out of grief.

Emerging is a story of loss and how the different types of love – romantic and platonic – lead to Natalie's ability to come to terms with Luke’s death, and even her own issues she has been running away from. In addition, I’m an avid road tripper, hiker, and include many of my journeys and experiences in this book. I am a San Diego native, so this agency seems like a perfect fit for me.
