Rubik's 360° ball stuck?
http://imageshack.com/a/img35/2497/tzrz.jpg
Hi,
As you can see on the picture, the red ball has become stuck between the black strip and the middle sphere. I've tried to shake it and bang it on my knee, but it just won't fall into the middle sphere's hole. Anyone know what to do, or how to open up the 360?
Thanks!
PS: sorry for the creepy look on the picture...
4 AnswersToys8 years agoPC audio output issue?
So, I recently broke my headphone's jack, and the end of it is still stuck in the audio out port of my computer. I spent 3 hours trying to get it out, but to no result. Anyone got any tips, other than glue and more of that mess?
If I still can't get it out, what would bet he best option? Get an HD monitor (I've been wanting to do this quite some time), connect it through HDMI (which supports audio), and then plug my headphone into the new monitor?
Or is there some kind of way to connect my normal headphone through USB (with a special piece)?
3 AnswersDesktops8 years agoPeugeot clutch problem?
My parents' Peugeot 307CC JBL edition (petrol, not diesel) has an annoying though not dramatic little problem. It used to change gears like a charm, but since about a week, whenever I (or my parents) change from neutral to 1st gear, the car kind of shakes and requires more RPM (round 2500-3000 instead of 1800-2000 before) to start rolling. There aren't any noises there shouldn't be. Could there be a problem with the clutch (disk) and would I need to take it to the garage to get it looked at?
The gearbox was broken when we bought it, but it was immediately replaced by the Peugeot dealer garage. (maybe this is relevant?)
The car has been regularly checked at the garage ever since we had it and we bought it new. Last check-up was only about a month or two ago.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoWifi access point question?
Hi.
I currently have a ethernet-based connection for my laptop, but would like to make it wireless. Do I just buy a wireless access point, plug in the ethernet cable into the access point and configure it? Or is it not that simple?
Thanks!
3 AnswersComputer Networking8 years agoHard drive boot issue?
Hello all. I've got a nearly 6 years-old desktop running Windows Vista.
Recently, I had a nasty problem. I was watching a movie and suddenly, my media player was minimized. As I tried to maximize other programs, they were immediately minimized again (including the start menu and the task manager). There was little else I could do than reboot, which I did.
As I feared, it wouldn't reboot correctly. Another BIOS popped up, and everything went alright until it hit the hard drive to boot windows. For a split second it showed me the 'Windows did not shut down correctly' screen, with the options to start normally, in safe mode or in safe mode with network possibility. After that, it would immediately reboot again and go back to the bios.
So, I opened up my pc and cleaned it up a bit, and also unplugged the sata data and power plugs from the drives and plugged them back in. That seemed to have fixed the problem back then, and the drives had not any data whatsoever.
Now about a week later (a few hours ago), the problem is back. I tried the same thing again, but it doesn't solve the problem this time. I booted Ubuntu from a live-cd without any problem, so it MUST be the hard drive I think, and as last time the data was intact, i guess it must be a loose contact somewhere.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem and found a solution for it?

1 AnswerOther - Hardware8 years agoHTC HD2 sim-card problem?
My HTC HD2 phone is having some problems with reception. With my own SIM-card, the reception is absolutely terrible: mostly only 1 bar, often even none at all. I tried my SIM in two other phones, both have perfect reception. I also tried my mum and my dad's SIMs in my phone, and they work reasonably well (constantly 3 or more bars).
Is there any possibility my SIM-card is incompatible with my phone? Or is it just my phone's antenna not working well? I once dropped my phone from about 10 cm onto a hard surface, but I don't think that could have damaged the antenna?

2 AnswersCell Phones & Plans9 years agoPackard bell monitor horizontal position problem?
I was recently playing Call of Duty when I wanted to change my monitor's brightness. Instead of pressing the menu-button on my monitor, I accidentally pressed the auto-adjust button. Ironically, this completely messed up the configuration, and now the screen is about 7cm/3in to the right, giving me black space on the left of the screen and having the right part of my screen cut off.
I have tried many things, but none of them are perfect.
1) Pressing the adjust button again: this used to fix the problem when I had the problem years ago, but now it doesn't.
2) Manually re-positioning the horizontal position: in theory this could work, but my monitor does not allow me to re-position it more than 50 pixels, so it's not enough.
3) Rebooting the pc and the monitor. Doesn't solve anything.
4) Changing the resolution in the configuration panel: when I put the resolution to a lower setting, the positioning problem was solved, but when I returned to my previous resolution, it was badly positioned again.
5) Using the reset button in the monitor's menu: this one seems to give a temporary solution. The horizontal position is perfect now, but the contrast, brightness and vertical position have to be fine tined. I'd be okay with doing that once, but every time my monitor goes inactive or is turned off and on, it automatically auto-adjusts again and I'm stuck with the problem again.
Anyone got some ideas or a solution (I am not going to buy a new monitor)?

1 AnswerMonitors9 years agoBMW occasions: €1000, what's wrong with them?
I'm not actually looking to buy a car, but I just find it interesting to browse the sites sometimes.
The first one is a 525 tds break, 1997, 270.000 km, diesel, originally 105 kW. No visible damage on the pictures or description.
Second one is a 730i, 1993, 95.000 km, LPG, originally 138 kW. No visible damage either, although it looks a bit like a gangster car, with all outside BMW logos removed.
What could be wrong with them that they're being offered for barely €1000?
1 AnswerBuying & Selling9 years agoCapital of Tanzania: Dodoma or Dar Es Salaam?
What's the current capital of Tanzania? Is it Dodoma, or is it Dar Es Salaam?
I've done a little research, and Wikipedia NL and EN claim it to be Dodoma, while the Wikimedia map of Africa, the CIA factbook and a paper-edition encyclopedia state Dar Es Salaam. The encyclopedia also mentions that Dodoma is the future designated capital. Wikipedia says Dodoma became the official capital as of 1973.
Really confused here, could someone clear this up for me?
Geography9 years ago[German] why is Sonne feminine and Stern masculine?
In German, der Stern (the star) is masculine, and die Sonne (the sun) is feminine. Why is die Sonne feminine if it is a star, which is masculine? Wouldn't it be more logical if it were der Sonne (masculine)?
As it is, it can give weird sentences like 'SIE ist DER hellste Stern von allen' (Rammstein - Die Sonne).
7 AnswersLanguages9 years agoI'm caught between two fires!?
Hi, I've been having a little crisis here for a week or two. I've been in a relationship for over a year, and things went quite well. But then some day, we had a little fight and she ended up kissing another guy. I broke up with her, but two weeks later I gave in to her demands and my longing for her and we got back together.
However, during those two weeks, I got quite close to a girl I had until then seen only as a good friend. When I got back together with my ex, I thought I had done a good thing, but I kept seeing the new girl a lot and I realized I had caught a huge crush for her. When I get a text message, I always hope it's her, and if it's her, I can't make the large smile on my face disappear, ...
As far as I noticed, it was mutual until she figured I got back together with my ex; now the signals are mixed. This made me realize I'm not really in love with my girlfriend anymore.
I can't decide what to do: I feel like I'm cheating on my girlfriend because I'm over my head with another girl, and on the other girl because I can't give her what she (might) want(s). Should I tell my gf the truth and try my luck with the other girl? I still love my gf, but I also want the other girl very badly and there's no way I'll date both at the same time.
Someone got some advice?
1 AnswerSingles & Dating9 years agoTime travelling: not bumping into things in the past or future?
This question of course is purely fictional and hypothetical. If it were possible to travel through time, how would it be possible to make sure you do not bump into any object that was already there? How do you make sure that the place you travel to does not already contain something?
And what if one spawned right where there already was something, what would happen? Would they bounce off of each other? Would they fuse?
Anyone who could help me with this 'wishful thinking'? :)
1 AnswerPhysics1 decade agoEnglish grammar: inversion?
I had a little discussion with my girlfriend about a sentence I saw in her essay. She had written "But in 1608 ruled the king of Scotland over Britain too." (or something similar, but the construction was the same). I told her that it sounded horribly wrong (in my opinion), and should be "But in 1608 the king of Scotland ruled over Britain too." She then replied that our English teacher had told her that it was perfectly fine.
Now, is it correct or not? Is the inversion allowed, required, or incorrect?
4 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoCould someone help me to choose the best HP Envy 17 variant?
I am about to buy a new laptop, but I haven't exactly chosen yet. I am very interested in the HP Envy 17. For this model in my country (Belgium), I've found two variants. One's the Belgian variant, the Envy 17-1150eb with 8gb of ram and 1tb of hdd. The other one's the North American variant (also sold in Belgium) with only 4gb of ram and 500gb hdd. One thing that makes me wonder is the price difference: €500 (€2000 vs €1500). How can one possible spend €500 on 4gb of ram and 500gb of hdd? Those are the only differences I can spot.
Also, I suppose the North American variant will have Windows available only in English?
Could someone give me some advice? Also, I've read about some heat issues, is this true? And what are possible alternatives with about the same specs and price class? (no Macbooks!!!)

1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoWhat caused the universe?
In class, we started philosophy. The teacher showed us a video of Randall Niles (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sfp5--zfBRA ). In this video, he says about this:
The law of causation says that everything that has a beginning, has a cause. Religious people will say that God created the universe. God is the cause of the universe. But what caused God? The law of causation should also be used to find the answer to what caused God. BUT, the law of causation says that 'everything that HAS A BEGINNING, has a cause'. Since God is Eternal by rule, he does not require a cause.
This video reminded me of one of the many struggles I've had with the christian religion. If God created the universe, who created God? And who created the Creator of God? Etc. It doesn't make sense, does it? I think Niles' way of explaining it (God the Eternal) is a very easy solution to solve the problem, but not the right one (not even mentioning that there is not even any proof of his/its existence).
We learned that a lot of philosophic questions are so complicated that they do not have any answer. Isn't this one of those, where someone proposed a simple answer because they couldn't handle not knowing the answer?
I know some of you will say 'You have to trust in God, even though you cannot see him or prove his existence (cf. Doubting Thomas the Apostle)'. My problem with that is that we wouldn't be trusting God, we would be trusting men, for the Holy Bible was written by men, and not by God.
Could I please have some serious answers, and no dogma bullshit? Also, I am not breaking down religion, in the contrary; I'm questioning it so that I might better understand it and either believe it with all my heart and soul, or either reject it and not fake my faith.
8 AnswersPhilosophy1 decade ago9/11 attacks coincidence with 911 emergency number?
I just got wondering, is it a coincidence that the terrorist attacks on the WTC towers was on 9/11? The emergency number to dial in the US is 911 after all. I always thought the number was chosen after the attacks, but I just read it has existed for a few decades already.
So, did the terrorists pick 9/11 on purpose because 911 is the US emergency phone number, or is this just a coincidence?

4 AnswersMedicine1 decade agoPsychology: strange thinking?
Ok, so first, I don't want to hear anyone saying I'm mad, crazy, geek, or whatsoever. Please. Thanks.
So, when I'm in my bed for instance, and I'm thinking of a spinning car. I can see it spin clockwise in my mind. But it's almost impossible to let it spin counterclockwise, or let it stop spinning. I have this with many many thoughts, like keys and locks, spinning objects, etc.
Does anyone know what's going on in my mind? If it's of any help, I'm 14, I'm a boy, and no I'm not smoking weed or any other drug. I mostly have this when I'm tired. I have had this for a long time already.
