How to solve for b with no m and only one point (y=mx+b)?
I need help solving for b in the equation y=mx+b, the only problem is we are only given (4,7) as a point the line passes through and no slope is given to us. I have plugged the points in so it is "7=m4+b" but I have been unable to get an acceptable (to the online homework reader) answer by doing so.
4 AnswersMathematics4 years agoAlgebra (I Think) help needed. Simplifying roots and rationalizing a denominator?
I am working on an online Calculus class and the prof gave us some algebra to warm up with. Only problem is the only thing I am able to work out is the first question. Any help would be appreciated, even if its just explaining how to do it. I have an image attached with exactly how the equations are written on the homework (color coded and everything) and I would really appreciate some help.

1 AnswerMathematics5 years agoSupport Reactions at A and B with a triangular shaped load and an overhang?
Ok so my professor went over how to do a simple, even load on an evenly supported beam, and then gave us this for homework (http://tinyurl.com/jxoz4kw). I honestly dont even want the answer, i just want to know how in the heck to solve this problem. I know you would split the triangle off on its own and have a slim rectangle on the bottom but that is as much as he explained. Any help would be nice, thank you.
1 AnswerEngineering5 years agoSupport Reactions (3 reactions, 1 pin and 1 rolling connection point)?
I am having no luck figuring out how to calculate the reaction on points A and D from this image " http://tinyurl.com/zt8lbm8%22 and really need help finding them. Any of that would be appreciated even if its just telling me how to find it myself
1 AnswerEngineering5 years agoFinding the Magnitude of force?
Three point charges are located at the following positions:Q1 = 2.00 μC at x = 1.00 m; Q2 = 3.00 μC at x = 0; Q3 = -5.00 μC at x = -1.00 m. What is the magnitude of the force on the 3.00-μC charge?
1 AnswerPhysics5 years agoPotential difference between plates?
It is desired that 8.0 μC of charge be stored on each plate of a 4.5 -μF capacitor.
What potential difference is required between the plates?
1 AnswerPhysics5 years agoI have no idea where to ask this but does anyone know how you can check the amount of views an online article has gotten?
Specifically how many views on an article you did not write, all of the trackers I've found have been using the actual cite views and not the ones on the article.
Other - Internet5 years agoWhat do I do if Kaspersky isn't picking up my harddrives when I run it?
I try running it, but each time it tells me it needs more space in order to run, then loads up and doesn't show it's picking up either hard drive
1 AnswerSoftware6 years agoIn not sure if this is in the right section but I'll try anyways. On a Slide Ruler it shows how to find sin and tan, but not cos.?
Any clue how to find that? It's just a basic slide ruler (prof said no calculators so when I showed up with one he said I could use it if I could figure it out). I haven't been able to find it anywhere so I'm hoping someone here knows. Thanks!
