I want to know HOW exactly Detroit will be able to pay all of its debt, pensions and other liabilities without waving a magic wand? Like it or not the city is bankrupt. It has no money to pay pensions, debt or anything else. It can't raise taxes as the people there have no money with which to pay them and it will cause even more people to leave the city, it can't fire cops or firemen as there are far too few as is, they can't stiff the creditors any more than they already are as they are getting ten cents on the dollar So exactly WHERE is the money going to come from?

Shouldn't this money go to paying back its creditors, paying its pensioners or hiring more cops? Why should Detroit be allowed to stiff its creditors and pensioners so that the Red Wings owner doesn't have to spend his own money to build a new stadium? 40% of Detroit's streetlights aren't lit at night because it is so broke. Isn't that more important than a sports stadium?

Have you ever seen all the crap that has a Sesame Street sticker on them? Books, toys, shampoo, clothes, DVDs and more. Sesame Street is a gold mine. If the producers of Sesame Street need a government handout on top of all that they need new management!

The Greeks can retire at 50, get 6 weeks paid vacation and work 30 hour weeks and are surprised their government is going broke. Will they keep refusing to do anything about that as long as Germany keeps paying their bills?

With Greece almost certain to default in the near future if it sticks with the Euro shouldn't it go back to the drachma? It then gets the weak currency it needs while Germany has the strong currency it needs.
