  • Trying to find quarter horse quote about "sleepy critters that explode" or something like that?

    I read a quote in an old magazine once, describing quarter horses. It was something either excerpted from a book or that a famous horseman said, and as I remember it, it said something about quarter horses basically being sleepy critters, but that they could light up and really run. I can't remember what magazine it was, but it wasn't more than a few years old, at most. Could have been Western Horseman or Horse Illustrated or America's Horse. Does anybody know of the quote I'm thinking of, and where it came from?
