  • Credit utilization question?

If I have 3 cards with a limit of $5000 each and make a purchase of $4000, does it matter if I put the balance all on one card? It would be 80% utilization of that particular card, but only 27% of the total. Do the scoring/issuing companies care if I spread it evenly across each card? I am hoping not, so that I can use one card at a time and not activate the next until I need to (to preserve the rewards). Thanks!

  • Will unactivated credit cards effectively increase my credit utilization?

I'm about to make a big purchase, so I need more credit. Right now I have a Visa platinum with a $5000 limit that I just started using. I don't want to go over about a 35% utilization so I applied for, and was just approved for two more cards- Citi dividend platinum select Mastercard college for $4000 and Capital One no hassle cash rewards Mastercard for $5000. My credit score is 766 although I never used a credit card (student loans, debit, cell payments, though). I basically want to get these extra cards and not activate them just for the extra credit that I won't use (If the purchase is $6000, I want credit totaling at least $18000).

  • What's it called when someone takes things away from you little by little?

Ever read Animal Farm? The pigs slowly take away rights and privileges until they are gone. My girlfriend first told me no more sex, then let's go to church, then let's take a break, then- I thought you knew we were just friends. Is there a term for this type of spineless, hurtful behavior?

  • Why do your feet hurt when you drop from a bar after hanging?

I can't even google this question. You know what I mean- that stinging, aching pulse of pain after you hang for about 10 seconds and you fall at least a foot.
