  • Are there any rednecks in San Francisco?

In the South, there are tons of rednecks. Basically, people who drive overly-sized pick up trucks, talk with an uneducated-sounding backward accent with their own lingo to go along with it. They are extremely right-winged regarding politics, overly religious, etc. and for some reason proud of it. You get the idea.

Do these people also live in San Francisco and the Bay area?

I don't mind these people. I have nothing against them. I just don't want to live in an area that has a lot of them.

  • Which area/neighborhood/part of San Francisco is the cleanest?

I literally mean the cleanest as in the least dirt, least trash on the streets, least urine smell, and least bums. I'm referring to San Francisco itself, not Palo Alto, Berkeley, Oakland etc.

  • Would you rather live in New York City or San Francisco? Why?

Tell me if you agree with this and which city you would rather live in:

NYC and SF are both are great cities. The problem with NYC is its too crowded and the people don't care if you get hit by a bus. They have no time to stop to tell you the time. It’s very impersonal. Also, the weather is disgusting in the winter and the summer, but great in the fall and the spring. In NYC, it costs you $50 to step outside your apartment to pick up the morning newspaper - you catch my drift? The buildings and architecture in NYC is better than anywhere. The beautiful historic yet some modern looking buildings make you smile. You can't be bored in NYC. There is too many places to go too much going on, and too much to see. You can get great food practically any time of the day or night. There are a lot of smart, upper-class people but they don't want to get to know you. It seems easy to feel alone with millions of people around you. That being said, if you already have a bunch of friends who live there and who have the time to spend with you, it will be a lot of fun going out and experiencing the city with them. If you don't already have friends who live there, you may have a tough time making friends.

SF lacks the stunning architecture that NYC has. I'm not a huge fan of the Victorian look in SF, except some of them that have a modern twist to it. The weather in SF is nicer that in NYC. Although it is usually cold or cool, you can wear warmer clothes and be fine, unlike in NYC. The weather in the northeast part of SF is the best - around South Beach. It’s usually sunny and anywhere from 65-85 degrees. The people in SF are diverse, and you stumble upon more friendly people than in NYC, or most US cities for that matter. In SF, everybody fits in. Everyone is typically accepted for who they are. So if you're white, black, pink, Asian, Hindu, a pot head, a body builder, short, tall, etc etc, there's a place for you in SF. That being said, there are some questionable and weird people who live in SF. NYC is dirty. SF is filthy. I'm talking about trash on the street, the smell of urine in a lot of areas, more homeless drug addicts than any US city, visible garbage bins etc. The scenery in SF is beautiful. There are views from just about any part of the city and the ocean can be seen from most parts of the area. Although most NYC neighborhoods look and feel somewhat alike, most SF neighborhoods are quite different from one another. I would say that SF is a city within city-feel suburbs, while NYC is all city. SF is also very expensive, but it's mostly the rent and the price of gas that are so high. Also, quite a bit more taxes are taken from your paycheck than other places. NYC too. The cost of just about everything else isn't too much more than other major US cities. NYC is the city that never sleeps. SF likes its sleep. Places close relatively early in SF, although a lot of privately owned restaurants stay open into the early hours of the morning. However, when you go to nightclubs and bars, expect to be done by 1am - 2am. The restaurants are equally amazing in SF to NYC, if not better, and they are also affordable unlike NYC for the most part.

In a nutshell, I'd say live in both cities at some point of your life if you can. If you're coming from a suburban, non-city area, I'd start with SF and then move on to NYC. If you're coming from a NYC, there may be a few disappointments in SF, alough there will be things you are very pleased with as well.

  • Serious question: Where in the USA should I live and why?

Based on the type of person I am, where in the USA should I live? Please use logic and explain your answer. Points to the person who can help me out. Thank you!

I have above average intelligence. I am fairly well educated with a Bachelors degree in Business from a state school.

I like to wear a suit a tie for work and on my off days wear a polo shirt with designer jeans and casual dress shoes, and sportswear on the weekends - Nike and Adidas only.

I speak proper english - no slang, ghetto or street talk. People often say that I am very proper in the way I speak as well as my demeanor.

I consider myself to be good looking and fairly in shape.

    I am white.

I enjoy intelligent conversations about Business, Finance, Politics etc, but I am not at all nerdy, although I know a lot about a lot.

I enjoy sports and am quite athletic.

In my free time, I like to eat out at nice restaurants, watch movies, and enjoy a few drinks.

I am very respectful towards other people and their views and appreciate respect in return.

I like nice things. I have a BMW, name brand clothing, nice furniture and electronic gadgets - iphone ipad macbook etc etc. This is because I simply enjoy having the best, not really because I want other people to think highly of me or what ever.

I would consider myself upper-middle class. Not rich.

I have good morals and values, but am not religious.

IMPORTANT - I feel that I would be like a fish out of water in the Southern US, or any ghetto area. I just would not do well there.

So, what area, state, or more specifically city, do you believe I would fit in well? And please, please give me your reasons. Thank you!

  • Should I buy a 2004 Merc SLK320?

Bright Red exterior on black interior, 60k miles, extended warranty until 125k miles through Carmax with over 200 parts covered $0 deductible, $16,500 for the car, Bose sound system, 2 door 2 seater hard top electronic convertible, 215hp, V6, 6 speed automatic, no work needed on the car at all, certified pre-owned.

I used to own a 2001 SLK230, the smaller engine version of this car and I liked it but was disappointed with the lack of power. This one for sale is more powerful.

    Should I buy this car?

  • What US city should I live in based on these facts?

I like weather that is not overwhelmingly hot or cold for most of the year. Days 60's - 70's would be great, maybe 80's sometimes. Nights cool enough to dress up so 40's - 50's would be nice.

I want to live in an educated area that is not filled with morons.

I like the ocean and mountains. I like the outdoors an outdoor activities/exercise.

I want to be surrounded by diverse people and cultures.

I like good food, mostly foreign, and lots of restaurants.

I want to lice in an area that has a lot to do

  • What is it like living in San Francisco or the Bay area?

For those of you who live in SF or know a lot of SF and the Bay area................

I am going to be done with college soon, and I could possibly get a 9am-5pm job in SF or the Bay area earning about $45,000 per year to start working in Finance, and the income would increase every year thereafter. I enjoy living with a (decent) roommate because I find living alone boring and lonely. I have a car but I could sell it.

Honestly, I can't live in a bad/ghetto area. I would need to be in a decent, middleclass or better area of the city/bay.

I would be able to pay the first 12 months of rent upfront as soon as I move, depending on the cost of the rent.

I like weather that is anywhere between 65-80 degrees during the day and 40-60 degrees at night. I like the sun but not 24/7. I love mountains and the ocean for viewing and breathing in the fresh air.

I want to live in a city that has friendly people and where it is easy to make friends, and where girls are attracted to classy, educated guys with good jobs instead of trashy, ghetto guys!!!

I like outdoor activities. I love good food - ethnic - Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Italian, Greek etc.

I want to be in a city where there is always something to do instead of sitting at home watching tv.

SO, do you think that San Francisco would be a good fit for me?

  • 2012 is a year for Presidential Elections.?

The nominees are Barack Obama and Mitt Romney. Who do you think would make a better president? Which one will keep America great and improve our country? Which one do you trust more? Which one do you like more?

Now, why? Please give me well-educated answers. Think about the main issues such as the economy, the unemployment, the national debt, the price of oil, illegals, education (as we are ranked only in the top 25 countries in the world! Terrible for such a powerful and wealthy nation!!!), taxes, and how to start improving on the abovementioned. Share your thoughts.

Additionally, please share whether you are a Republican or a Democrat and why?

  • Prefer a BMW or a Mercedes?

If you could have the same valued BMW or Mercedes, which would you pick?

    Ex: A 2009 C300 or a 2009 330i. A 2004 SLK or 2004 Z4. A 2012 328i Sport Coupe or a 2012 C250 Sport Coupe.

Additionally, have you had any good or bad experiences with either of these cars?

  • How is/was your experience living in Florida?

ECONOMY - Florida is statistically ranked 47 of out of 50 states. Only 3 states have a worse economy than Florida. Its dry in Florida. There are hardly any jobs. Most available jobs are at companies that are headquartered in a different state. Florida's favorite statement is "Overqualified". If you hold a decent bachelors degree, you will have a tough time finding a job, if you have a masters degree or more, you won't be getting a job. Ludacris!

Work industry - the majority of the jobs are in the service/hospitality industry. Business is almost non-existent. Those who work in hospitality/service/hotels/resorts/resta… get to enjoy low pay - BELOW the poverty line, scheduled hours on the job only when it is busy, and almost no hours at all during the summer months because business is slow. Ex: A person with decent experience who works the Front Desk of a hotel in Florida can expect to earn about $18,000 for the year. The same job in San Francisco for example earns about $45,000. Servers/wait staff are earning about $3 per hour BEFORE taxes and benefits are deducted, and typically get to keep 60% - 70% of their tips/gratuities. Florida is a Right to Work state, therefore the worker has no rights, no guarrenteed pay/hours, etc. Workers do not need to be given a break during their shift regardless of how long their shift is, and worst of all, workers can be fired at any given time, for any given reason. Often, people get hired right before busy season and then fired right before slow season. There are no protection for workers whatsoever, infact, it says just that in the new hire paperwork that workers are required to sign and give to the employer before they can begin their new job. Absolutely terrible.

Bugs - they are just everywhere. There is no escape. From flies to mosquitoes to venomous, highly toxic spiders, to bed bugs, to lovebugs that screw up the paint on your car, to beatles to termites to roaches to "no see ems"(tiny little demons that you can't see but you feel a prick/bite every few seconds when you're outside) . The bugs live in the walls of apartment buildings and houses and there is no getting rid of them. I wonder how many bugs people swallow daily without knowing.

Weather - it is HOT, ALWAYS! Day and night it feels disgusting outside. The heat is uncomfortable, but the humidity is unbareable. You stand outside for 10 seconds and begin to sweat. This is inevitable. Because of this you constantly feel drained of energy, don't feel motivated to do anything active or anything that requires going outside. Sickness/flu is common in Florida because people go from excrutiating heat into icecold buildings several times a day. All the businesses keep their buildings, stores, banks etc ice cold, and this complete change in temperature all day everyday is very unhealthy. Additionally, peoples skin and especially hair suffer. The constant humidity kills hair and skin and sucks all the nutrition out of it.

Lightning capital of the world - lightning is DANGEROUS in Florida. It constantly ruins your fun. You're at the pool or beach having a BBQ, or out playing golf, and wa la. Zap Zap. People get struck in Florida every year, so you have to quickly pack up your things and run inside.

Terrible, dangerous drivers - The most dangerous road in the world statistically (in terms of accidents and deaths) goes from Miami to North Florida and exits the state. Its called I-95. The area between North Floria and South Florida have the most accidents, and I don't understand it because the road is dead straight, completely flat, and has 4 - 5 really wide lates. People don't use blinkers EVER, they don't look when changing lanes, they do 30 over the speed limit in the slow lanes and 10 under the speed limit in the fast lanes, constantly cut each other off, don't look before pulling into traffic, don't stop at stop signs. Florida is the only place I've been where four cars get to a four-way stop and stare at each other for 10 seconds like idiots, because no one knows who is going where because no one is using their blinker.

    An embarressing about of ignorance!

    Rude People!

Girls prefer trashy ghetto guys :0

    Lack of class!

    Terrible pay!

    Poverty

    Old people everywhere

    Redneck/Hillbilly/trash, former NY'ers everywhere.

No job security, unions, or labor laws.

    Right to work state

No fault state regarding car insurance - someone crashes into, good luck, you're on your own. You pay your insurance deductable and it raises your rates and you get points on your license whether its your fault or not.

    Education - bottom 8 out of 50.

    Drugs - capital of America.

Crime - both petty crime and life-threatening crime.

Cops - rude, egotistical, unforgiving, uneducated morons. Unlike other places where cops ar great.
