  • Homeschool drug program?

I am homeschooling my older boys and have been trying to find a homeschool drug program. I have read about the DARE program, but was informed that it is only taught at public schools. Don't know if that is true or not, but didn't see our area listed as being an area that it is taught in anyway. I would like to include this as part of our schooling for one week, but have been unable to find anything. Does anyone know of a program or materials that could be used in homeschooling? I did also try calling the library, but no one ever answered the phone. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh, it would also help us out in requirements for their boy scouting.

  • Hershey Kiss and crescent roll recipe?

A couple of months ago, I cut out a recipe from the back of a hershey kiss bag. The recipe consisted of crescent rolls and hershey kisses. The only thing I can remember is that you put 3 kisses at the long end of the roll and then roll it. I cannot find the recipe, courtesy of my 2 year old, and have searched various sites on the internet. Does anyone have this recipe or one that is similar? I really would like to try this recipe. Thanks!

That second part she is not sure on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Where to get an owner's manual for a candy melter?

I was given a Cook's Essentials chocolate candy melter recently. It has everything EXCEPT the owner's manual. I have tried googling and every other avenue on the internet. Even gone so far as contacting QVC (which I learned the melter was an exclusive item for them). They can't, or won't, help because I do not have a customer number. Does anyone know where or how to get an owner's manual so I know what all the utensils are for and how to melt the candy chocolates? I pretty much figured out one of the utensils, but would feel much better if I could be sure.

  • Straw Bales for Gardening?

A couple of months ago, my husband's go-worker was telling them about how her brother used straw or hay bales for gardening. When my husband told me, he couldn't remember if she had said straw or hay. She asked her brother who has yet to respond. I was curious to know if anyone else would know what was used. We have been wanting to start a raised garden, but have not found a way to do so in our yard and think this would be perfect for us and our children to maintain. Thanks for any information!!

  • Making candles using "wax crystals"?

I recently bought Crafty Candles Wax Crystals to make candles for some friends. On the back of the package, the instructions (for the wax candles) it simple states: Pour wax crystals into a container. And then it talks about layering different colors and then inserting the wick. I have never used these wax crystals before. So, my question is: Do I simply pour them in as is, or do I need to melt them first?

  • A question about the life of vegetable seeds?

Several years ago, my husband and I bought some vegetable and flower seeds. We were planning on starting a vegetable garden and adding some flowers to attract butterflies and to beautify our home. Well, needless to say, life happens and we were unable to make our garden and set aside the seeds, forgetting we had them. We are now starting a garden this year and I have found those seeds. The problem is, it says 2008 on them. Will they still grow if planted? I have been reading almost every gardening book I come across and cannot find the answer to that question. The seeds are cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, and cucumbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Alcohol replacements in mixed drinks?

My husband and I do not drink alcohol. That being said, we have found several drink "recipes" that sound really yummy, but they call for some sort of alcohol. Ex. rum, vodka, white wine, etc. I would like to know if there is anything you can substitute them with. There is a couple that we have found that can be substituted with apple juice or orange juice, but those were for drinks that called for orange flavored liquor. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  • How/when to plant or grow spaghetti squash?

Okay, I bought a spaghetti squash tonight for dinner. My husband and I decided to save the seeds to put in our garden. Well, I noticed some of the seeds already have "roots" and 2 of the seeds, have a little green plant coming out of them. I have searched the internet for how to plant these seeds, and have come up empty. The only thing I can find is that the squash is a fall/winter harvest. I know absolutely nothing about squash (spaghetti or otherwise). Can I plant these in a container? Should I plant them at all? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! I need some help! Thanks!
