  • Arguing with girlfriend?

    Hi all,

I have been with my girlfriend for the past 5 months. We have been arguing over silly things lately like last night I asked her when she takes the dog for a walk do you bump into any regular dog walkers ( We don't live together both live 2 hours away). After asking that question she accused me of not having a brain and being stupid and that I should know the answer. I replied to her saying you need to stop being stupid ( bad move from me).

She thinks I have no feelings for her. She said to me "If you want a break I agree" by txt message. I had mentioned nothing about wanting a break so what does this mean? She wants a break?

  • 5 over 7 contract rights?

I started with a company a year ago having signed a contract for 5 days over 7. There are 3 Engineers on the same contract as me the rest of the company Engineers are on different contracts i.e. work Mon-Fri and weekend off. If they work the weekend the they will earn an extra £180- £200 per day.

We weren't obviously aware of the contracts other engineers were on prior to joining the company but soon after joining all the staff in the company were asked to go on the 5 over 7 contract which they refused as they would be better off working mon-fri and occasionally work the weekend for some extra £££.

I have been asked to work a few Sundays with another engineer who isn't on the 5 over 7 contract. He will be on around £180-£200 a day whilst i'll be on £80 a day. How is the right?

I have told my employer that i am happy to work Sundays right through to Friday instead of having a day off during the week mob-fri but they say i can't even though the guy i am working with is doing just that.

  • Australia Best time to go?

Looking to travel Australia for 3 weeks next year after May time. Looking to travel with my girlfriend starting our journey from London to Sydney stay there for a few days then head up the coast to Brisbane for a few days before ending our journey up North possibly fly back from Cairns.

Any Idea when would be a good time to come over for a decent amount of weather? We love the heat and live to soak up the sun something we don't get much of here in the UK.

  • Radicalisation and extremism?

Ok extemism is the main problem here its not religion. If i said to you that i have won the lottery 3 times in 3 different countries and there is a way to brake into the system to keep winning would you believe me?

Unfortunately this is what the world is coming to people believing a load of crap that is said.

Ask yourself this question who trained IS? Who Armed them with guns and ammunition? I believe it was the likes of the U.S and UK along with other countries. They gave a lot of the critical information to them whilst out in Iraq and Afghanistan and they responded by killing the US and UK soldiers with that training.

There are kids in these war torn countries that don't have an education the only thing they are taught is how to blow themselves up and kill others too. All the refugees coming over from these countries should be sent back to were they came from. They can fight there own war like us brits did during ww1 and ww2.

During WW1 and WW2 kids were evacuated to the countryside whilst the mums worked hard in factories and dads fought for the country. This should be the same for iraq, afganistan and seria. Send the kids to a non war torn country or to the countryside on your own doorstep like dubai or bahrain and fight against IS yourselfs.

  • Australia 1 year working holiday visa or just a 3 week holiday??

What would be the better option?

Imagine this your in job with good pay working on your own every day monday-friday working various shifts and the occasional saturday and sunday work. You have always enjoyed going on holiday.

You have always wanted to go to Australia. Would you give up a job that you like and pays well to go out to Australia for a year or 2 on a working holiday visa with a girlfriend who hasn't saved any money at all?

Would you take the risk? Or would you just go there for 3 weeks on a holiday and keep your job in the UK?

I am looking at changing career and becoming a travel adviser. I am passionate about travel and love hearing stories of when someone has been abroad and also enjoy helping friends and family search for there perfect holiday.

Where should i start to become a travel adviser and what courses should i be looking at doing?

what are the chances of earning £30k a year and would i be able to earn this if i worked for someone like thomas cook or thomson? I know the basic salary is low and you get commission for each sale but is this achievable?

  • How do i become a VSAT engineer?

I served 4 years in the royal navy from 2004 till 2008 as an Engineer Technician maintaining the radar systems and communication systems onboard a warship. Having left and done numerous jobs which became less challenging after a couple of years. I would now like a job as a VSAT engineer maintaining and installing the satellite and communication systems onboard yachts as this is something that i know i would enjoy.

I've google searched vsat engineer training and hardly anything comes up there doesn't seem to be any practical training courses they all seem to be in class theory. Does anyone know how i can gain entry into the VSAT yachting industry? And what training centres offer practical hands on training as well as theory?

  • Working holiday visa?

Both mine and my girlfriends dream is to one day emigrate to Australia but before we do we want to explore the country ideally go out there on a working holiday visa but with my age being 28 what chances have i got finding work compared to someone in there late teens? I'm easy going and happy to do any job that is available. Currently I've got little savings around £600 AUD-1160 this probably won't be enough so may need to take out a loan to fund the flight and first week hostel.

  • Walking out of a job?

I have been working for this company for the past 3 months which has over 10 engineers. As a trainee i am learning off other engineers on how to do the job but sometimes am put with an engineer who is turning out to be a bully. I see myself as a keen learner and want to learn as much as i can so that i can do the job on my own but this particular engineer who is suppose to be teaching me the job spends more time calling mea c@nt and a knobhead normally comes out with your such a c@nt or pass me this lanky just because I'm tall and slim. I have told him what i think but its getting to the point where its putting me down. Because its a big job that I'm helping him with he always asks for help back at the office and either send me or another trainee to help him. I'm not getting paid much hardly enough to survive without occasionally using my credit card to pay for a few bills water/gas but know that once i start working out on my own for the company my wages will go up. I'm not at the stage where i have enough experience just yet to go out on my own but will hopefully in the next 2/3 months. So what do i do? a) Walk away from the site I'm helping him on if he keeps doing it although this could get me the sack from the job as there is a requirement for 2 people to be on site this has come from the health and safety manager or b) Tell him to come round the corner where no one is looking and throw a few punches which will then result in me getting the sack. What should i do??

  • Me and my girlfriend keep arguing?

I have been with my girlfriend for the past 5 years on and off split up a few times because of the amount of arguing. We have been back together for the past year but lately started arguing again over silly things. Whilst I'm at the other side of the room she'll mumble something to me which I can hardly hear then she'll repeat it again and mumble so I still don't understand what she is saying so I'll speak quietly to her to prove a point and say that you need to speak louder as I can't here you. This then leads to an argument and her being violent and going mad. Am I wrong in telling her she needs to speak louder?

  • MacBook Pro 512GB v 256GB?

I am looking at buying the latest MacBook Pro with retina screen.

I'll be using the laptop for

    1. Blogging whilst travelling

    2. Adding photos

    3. Video editing

Am I better off saving the £200 and going for the 256GB MacBook Pro retina display and buying an external hard drive instead? If yes then what external hard drive can someone recommend to use whilst travelling?

    If no why?

    Thanks
