  • If the Government ends up owning 70% of GM, does every taxpaying American get the Employee discount?

Our tax money is bailing out GM and buying their bonds to the tune of 70% ownership in the company. So we the taxpayers own GM. It would seem to reason that we should qualify for the Employee Discount on all GM products since "We the People" are the owners. Am I right?

  • Can you name another struggle like those in my poem?

    Struggles

Gold laden galleons floundering on the sea,

Can not save their treasures despite their majesty.

To Neptune’s bed eternal their sails set no more,

Gold laden galleons shattered on the ocean floor.

Covered wooden wagons ramble toward the West,

Extremely slow and torturous at their very best,

Left with hopes abandoned below the mountain pass,

Covered wooden wagons rotting in the choking grass.

Silver sparkled moon ships drifting out in space,

Remnants of the futile dreams that plague the human race,

Empty craft of hollow hopes they sail on endlessly,

In tribute to man’s struggles trying to break free.

  • What's your lasting impression of my poem?

    The Last Kiss

I held her close and kissed her nape,

Her head lay back over my arm,

My embrace was tight, she wouldn’t escape,

All was quiet there was no alarm.

The night was still and the moon so bright

As we lay in the grass on the bank

The fire shown on her, a beautiful sight,

I had only the good Lord to thank.

I raised her head and touched her lips

With my own in a lingering kiss.

I caressed her cool cheek with my fingertips,

There would never be a moment like this.

I lifted her up and cradled her weight,

My thoughts were but of her love,

The side beached car had sealed her fate,

As the flames danced on the road above.

  • Tell me what vision my poem inspires in you.?

    Beachfront Symphony

The canon are pounding a rhythm,

Into the sand dunes splashed with men.

Their cries and screams are marking time,

As the bombs crush them time and again.

    Rifles are snapping quite wildly,

‘Ore the crest of the earthen works.

    Reflecting a gruesome symphony,

In the shattered limb that jerks.

    Cold bayonets are slashing silvery,

Across the barbed wire stanza lines.

Dotted with torn and fallen corpses,

    Cast there by erupting mines.

    Fragment pieces come raining down,

    To a blood droplet melody.

A sight no mortal man should bear,

    Is the beachfront symphony.

  • Civil War - Who was the Commanding Officer of the Maryland Volunteers Enlisted Sept, 1862 in Frederick?

During the first invasion of the north, Lee expected to have Marylanders by the score join with the rebel army as they liberated Maryland from Federal tyrany.

About 1500 men were all the mustered in while Lee was camped in Frederick between Sept 7-13th. I read, but can not find it again, who was appointed commanding officer of the new regiment.

The new Maryland Volunteers would not see action in the Maryland campaign because the brass didn't trust them to actually fight being green and they doubted their loyalities to the cause.

    Thanks.

  • What do you think she meant?

I got an email from an asker of a question. I'm not sure whether she liked my answer or not.

Donna Le Oiseau de Feu's email only contained the following message:

Subject: Hi form <sic> Philadelphia Area

    Message: >>>>@

Can you tell me what she meant to say? I'm not into texting encryption and haven't seen that one yet.

    Thanks

    g-day!

  • Why still pay farmers NOT to plant corn?

With the price of corn rising and shortages due to the damand of ethanol plants, why are US taxpayers still being strapped to pay for "Set Aside" programs?

Set aside pays farmers a fee to leave their fields unplanted to prevent over production that would make the commodity so cheap as to force farmers out of business; in a nutshell.

So isn't time to stop this practice?
