One of the talking points of Obama supporters is that he's a "different" kind of politician. From his anti-"Big Oil" (really anti-capitalist) rhetoric, to his empty speeches, I don't see one thing about his campaign that I can't go back in history and point out another candidate who did or said nearly the same thing. Can anyone else think of a reason why Obama is different?

It seems to me that the CEOs actually contribute something worthwile to society (jobs, etc.), while the celebs contribute nothing and get all the glamour.

And what lessons can we draw from those periods as it relates to the upcoming election?

The same people who preach to us up and down about "peace, love, and tolerance" go online and give us threads like this...

So, if it's not too much to ask, could you liberals stop yelling about how conservatives are full of hatred? Thank you.

Also, I know there are going to be a few "Well, conservatives did it, too" answers. I'd thank you to just save those, because there are no big name conservative sites where this kind of behavior is tolerated.

Because it's really annoying that the left won't just pick one stereotype and run with it.

Me, I couldn't care less about other's behavior, including my parents, just as long as I have my fundamental right to life respected. And you people who use that as an excuse, each state has a method to prevent children from being abused or neglected. It's called Child Protective Service. That is not an excuse for the brazen destruction of human life.

Particularly the "I'm personally against abortion, but I support a woman's right to choose line. Imagine "I'm against amassing wealth, but it's really none of my business how much Bill Gates makes", "or I'm against school vouchers, but it's okay if someone else wants them", or even "I'm against gun ownership, but if you want one, more power to you." In short, why is it that the only choice a liberal is in favor of is abortion?

From Ted Kennedy's vicious smears on Robert Bork, to the attacks on Oliver North, from the old "It's not the nature of the evidence, it's the seriousness of the charge excuse for lying about a supposed deal between Reagan and the Iranians so that they'd keep the hostages until after the election, to Anita Hill's testimony in the Clarence Thomas hearings. More recently, there was Dick Clarke's "tell-all" book that told lies about Condi's "facial expressions". Don't forget the lie that Rush Limbaugh is a pedophile because he was caught with Viagra at an airport. Even LIHOP/MIHOP. Add to those the classic lies about "tax cuts for the rich" and the fact the liberals celebrated Clinton's ability to avoid the truth, and I really have to wonder what it is about liberalism that makes its adherents so eager to fudge the truth?

With the nomination of an unproven, unqualified candidate, the Democratic Party has thrown in the towel for this election, one that, if you believe their rhetoric, should have easily been their's to lose. They just lost it.

How does that make you liberals feel? Knowing that after eight years of Bush, this was your year, and let's face it, somehow you allowed someone who doesn't have a thing on his resume that reccomends him for the office to become your standard bearer. Are you liberals totally dejected? Are you already looking forward to 2012? Do you still hold in your heart some hope that McCain won't absolutely mop the floor with this unqualified guy?

And how will they avoid assault charges for attacking innocent people?

Paraphrasing a Yahoo Answerer. What about an atheist would make him or her uniquely more qualified to make important decisions regarding the well-being of those he or she would have been chosen to serve. Please, no personal attacks on atheists or on anyone's intelligence or sincerity.

Especially considering the fact that they did the same thing for McCain in 2000 and earlier this year. Is it because Rush was so much better at it than they were?

If you feel that you are smarter than Pres. Bush, I'd like to hear from you. Please describe in detail (more than one or two sentences) why you feel that you are brighter than he is.
