  • Speeding Ticket Question?

I received my first ever speeding ticket today. I was issued a fine, but the officer told me that no points would be assessed on my license. Will the ticket remain on my record permanently, or is it removed after a certain period of time? In addition, will my insurance go up even though I didn't get any points?

  • Newlywed Problems - Help?

My husband and I have been married for 10 months. I am in law school so I'm busy studying most of the time, but he will not help me with any chores. I do the laundry, clean, take out the trash, wash the dishes, etc. The only thing he does is cook. I asked him if we could start having healthy meals because he cooks greasy, fatty meals. He refuses, and I do not have time to cook because I'm busy with school and all of the other chores. We have both gained weight, and I have no energy anymore.

Today, he threw some towels at me when he saw that I had forgotten to remove them from the dryer. When I got upset, he said that I do not have a sense of humor. He also gives me the silent treatment for as long as 24 hours. When I ask him what is wrong, he responds by slamming the doors around and ignoring me. When he is not working, he is playing video games or watching TV.

Am I doing something wrong? His mom was a stay at home mom, so I feel like he expects me to do everything while I also earn my degree. I'm not getting my JD so I can sit at home and babysit him. I always thought that marriage would be great, but now I feel like I'm going to be miserable for the rest of my life! I'm only 24. Any advice?

  • Should I transfer law schools?

I just finished my first year at Penn State Dickinson, and I applied to transfer. I got into George Washington University and I am on the waiting list at Georgetown. I am interested in pursuing International Law, and I hope to live in PA, VA, or close to DC after I graduate.

I am concerned that I will have difficulty finding a job in PA because I was studying at a PA school and then transferred to DC. Penn State is ranked fairly well, but I'm not completely happy with the school. Our facilities are not the best because they are constructing a new building for us (which will be ready after I graduate).

Some people have told me that it would only be worth it for me to transfer if I got into Georgetown because it is ranked in the top 14. Unfortunately, I won't know if I got in until August, and I need to let GWU know my decision soon. Does anyone who is in law school or who went to law school have any advice? Thank you!
