  • Mushrooms that grow on stumps. Are they poisonous to dogs?

OK So me and the kids just moved (bigger house/yard Yea!!) and there are several tree stumps that are in the yard. They have been cut off flush to the ground (I can mow right over them) but they are growing those mushrooms that sometimes grow on trees. I have been trying to look it up to see if they could hurt the dogs if they decided to chew on them but I have not been able to find anything. Does anyone here know if they are or not?

For now I have fenced around the stumps so the dogs can not get to them but I really want to know so I can stop worrying.

  • Does the Female or the Male determine the size in puppies (Knowledgeble People Only)?

I have a question for people that actually know what they are talking about.

When breeding a dog, I know that the dog decided the sex of the puppies but who determines the size?

Some friends and I have been talking and we were wondering. I have had some people tell me that it is 50/50 and some tell me that the byitch decided the size. Does anyone that has been in dogs a long time know the answer to this question?

Also Before people attack me for breeding I have no planned litters this is just a interesting question and I would like to know the answer to it so please DO NOT leave any nasty comments because I will report you.

  • What could be going on ?

OK so I know I need to go to the doctor but before I do I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight to what could possibly be going on. So here is the question, my bum bleeds. Not just when I go to the bathroom either. Sometimes even when I just urinate and I wipe there will be fresh blood all over the toilet paper. I regular bowl movements, there has been no trauma, no pain, no itching, or burning. I just turned 30 so I was wondering if this sometimes happens. This is very embarrassing so if it is something that will go away on its own then that would be best for me. I don't usually run to the doctor. I usually take care of things myself if possible. If anyone has ever experienced this or might know what is going any advice would be appreciated.

  • How do you choose a vet?

I was just wondering how other people chose their vets. For example when ever I have to choose a vet it is very much like a job interview to me. I know what I want in a vet and I know that I want a vet that is experienced enough to take care of my breeds.

For example I have two vets. One that takes good care of my Danes because he has vast knowledge with the breed. However he did not have much knowledge about Greyhounds so I have a different vet for him. Also I want a vet that understands that I am knowledgeable about my dogs and I am not someone that runs to the vet every time my dogs sneeze. I do treat at home if I can. And before everyone start to yell about that let me give you some background.

My uncle was a vet (both large and small animals). I spent as much time as I could going with him on farm calls or just working around the kennels when he needed me to. So I would consider my knowledge a little more advanced then the normal pet owner. Now that being said I DO know when I need to take my kids to the vet. However instead of spending $200 at the vet when it is a $20 fix then that's what I will do.

I also want a vet that understands not only that I do know some stuff but one that understands that I live with the dogs day in and day out so if I am bringing them in then there is really something wrong or off with them. I personally can't stand it when a vet tells me " I don't know" or " I'm not sure" My favorite is that I am over reacting. I personally want a vet that will take time to listen to what I have to say and then will not only believe me but will do everything in their power to find out what is wrong.

So in a moment of boredom I thought I would ask how other people chose a vet. Do you just go to the closest one or is there anyone like me out there?

  • is it true that mortgage company's look at credit consolidation the same way they do bankruptcy?

I am really trying to get my credit cleaned up. I was thinking about doing the credit consolidation thing but I had someone tell me not to because mortgage companies look frown on it almost as much as bankruptcy. Is this true?
