  • Custom built computer- bios wont appear?

So I just finished piecing together this build:

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1PkLG

Aaaand the motherboard displays code AE, which apparently means "Legacy Boot" and nothing is displayed. I have tried both HDMI and VGA through the Motherboard, and BIOS doesn't display. I have a USB stick with Ubuntu plugged in, and I have tried with HDD and SSD mounted or unmounted. I have no idea what's going on. Please help.

  • What do you think of this build?

I have a very tight budget. Is this build good enough for gaming/programming, will everything work fine together, and what would be a good PSU with this build? I'm looking at something around 650W to allow for later graphics upgrade and overclocking (not major though). (I already have a case)

    i5 4670k + MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate combo- (microcenter $260)

    then these parts:

Thanks for any recommendations, especially in the PSU department.

  • Will this motherboard suit my needs?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N8...

I'm planning on building a computer but don't know much about specific motherboards. I plan on getting a Haswell i3 then later upgrading to a Broadwell i5 (which is also socket 1150) and CPU cooler(probably a Corsair H60 or Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo). The build will be used for gaming, programming, and heavy multitasking, including editing of pics/video/text along with obscene numbers of internet tabs and VoiP.

An example of the total build can be found here:

Is this motherboard suitable for this build? Is there another (cheaper) board you can recommend?

Side notes: I'm on a tight budget of about $700 to start clean including OS. The SSD probably will get nix'd for a WD caviar blue 1 TB or Seagate equivalent, and the RAM is whatever is on sale at the time, min spec DDR3-1600 CAS 9, and the video card will probably be a Tahiti 7870 made by Sapphire or something. I may overclock GPU and CPU eventually.

  • Will this rig be good for gaming, etc.?

Will this rig work for current games? Are there any parts that you recommend over any of these, or cheaper than these? Also, will this computer handle tasks such as program compilation, minor video editing, heavy multitasking, etc.?

    If the link isn't working:

    FX-6300 CPU

    MSI 970A-G43 Mobo

    Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM

    Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB HDD

    Sapphire Radeon 7870 GHz edition

    Corsair CX-500 PSU

    Apex Vortex 3620 Case

    DVD writer

    Windows 7

    Total: about $670

  • What is the best $500 budget gaming PC right now?

I'm looking to build my first gaming PC. I would like to be able to play current games at least on high detail, and be able to upgrade to an SSD/better GPU later. I don't need an OS, monitor, or accessories included in the build.

Right now, I'm looking at a build using an i3-3220, 8 gb of 1600 mHz RAM, a 500gb 7200 RPM HDD, and a Radeon 7770, but if I could get a better GPU, I'd go for it. I'm unsure of what PSU to get, the benefits of modular PSUs, wattage, which cases are recommended, mobos, etc.

    Thank you for your help!
