  • is asking people how their week was or what theyve been up to through out the week being condscending?

My boyfriend is considerably rude, he has aspergers, and doesn't seem to understand that you can't ignore your partners parents, he told me not to be rude to his mother and to becareful what I say and do around her so that they won't throw me out of their home, yet he considers my parents asking him what he's been up to throughout the week condescending and says "I'm not going to talk to your parents, im going to be defensive and refuse to answer any questions they ask me" my parents especially my father like to joke around, but my partner takes it far too seriously and is wanting to display the same behaviours he doesn't want me to show whilst im around his parents, his mother intentionally upsets me, my parents don't intentinalky hurt him, he told me not to do or say anything that would stop me from coming over, but he is willing to risk that at my place, what should I do?

  • is it right to place your mothers happiness over your own relationship?

I explained to my boyfriend that he can't keep putting his mothers happiness first all the time, as my brother just had a breakup from his engagement of 5 years due to her mother. All he seems to care about is her "her kicking him out, and her not liking being told off" he wouldn't have a reason to tell her off if she would just butt out. She seems to think I'm here to please her, meaning she has say in what happens in our relationship, if I can't move out straight away, she sees it a problem, she even picks out small problems that aren't even there about me, why do mothers get involved? And do you think it's right?

  • is it a good thing to go out with a mummy s boy?

My partner have and I been going out for 11 months now, my parents stated right at the beginning of our relationship that they don't want to get involved and that what happens is partners and my business not theirs, on the other hand, his mother believes everything in our relationship is her business, we are both aren't financially stable enough to move out in to OUR own place yet but plan to when have more money, , but I am renting a unit in my backyard as I'm on low income and in a housing commissioning home for people low incomes like my parents, his mother doesn't accept that, he does but she sees it as a problem and wants me to move out right now and cut ties with my father, she makes every day decisions about us/ me all the time, he said "he can't stand up to her" "if I stand up to her all the time she'll forbid you from coming over" he thinks his mother has a voice in our relationship, tells at me if I tell him how I feel. This is relationship contains 3 people when it should only contain two, worst thing is were engaged, my father offered him to move in my place until we can afford to move out, but that's a no for her, he says " I can't do that because my mother doesn't like it" I meaning f**^ing hell I'm 29 and he's 25 for Christ sakes, why does she get to have a say???

  • can you take antibiotics whilst taking a sleeping pill at night?

I've been taking sleep aid occasionally as my sleeping patterns are irregular, I've started taking antibiotics because I have bronchitis. Should I take sleep aid whilst on the antibiotics? I'm also on the pill and have been recommended to have that either 2 hours before or after the antibiotics, I have to take them twice daily half an hour before food until finished

  • is it wrong for parents to make their adult children base their lives around their disability?

All my life I've been basing my life around my disability, I got sent to special school through out my secondary years, I then went to day service for disabled adults, went to a tafe course specifically for people with disabilities, whenever I brought up that I could do better, I was called selfish and told that I thought "u was better than the people who hrs to attend these places" funny thing is, the people who attended these places could not go anywhere else or do anything else, it was the only place they could go, where is me, I've been made more disable than what I actually am, they question me on when I help my sister with her school work for example : how could you do that? They assume that I can't do anything but hand out stickers to children at a local school, funny thing is the teachers hand them out and the children get them themselves, but that's all I do and I'm a qualified teachers aide, I get told, that I should be happy that they're doing me a favour, they're pessimistic when I want to further my studying and say "you won't be guaranteed a job, my mothers on a carers pension for me, only so that she shouldn't have to go out to work which also means I cannot never move out of home and I'm nearly 30

  • do judgemental mothers prevent their children from going out with their partners who have a disability?

My partners mother keeps making an excuses using my disability as an excuse to not help out, I can walk and talk but have a slight limp, she complains that her son isn't helping out by going to his brothers place and doing labour, every time I suggest to help out she says no, even was shocked that I helped in the supermarket wit his father, even tells him that I can't be around when he helps out, even gave me foul looks the other day when I told her I was looking for paid work, could she potentially advice him to dump me because of my disability? He doesn't care that I have one, and he knows I can do more than just recreational things yet his mother keeps using it as a barrier and indirectly tells him to leave me

  • what do you do with a controlling mother in law?

I've been engaged to a guy for a few months. We are happy, but recently his mother's been indirectly telling him not to be with me, saying that he has to give up weekends to help his brother, even if I'm at his house, he could be there all day and she tells me I have to stay at their house, whilst he goes, yet this is the same woman who complained that her mother wouldn't allow her to see her now husband until the weekend.

Is she making him choose between his family and I? Mind you I'm 28 and he's 25!

    Please help

  • Why do parents try and tell their kids when to see their partners?

My father asked me why I spend so much time at Stevens (my boyfriend) I'm 30 in a few years and he's 25, it's like he wants me home all the time

Also his mother told him that he should work 2 jobs which would ultimately mean we have to break to break up, as his boss says it's demanding work which could mean he would work weekends which is when I see him, his mother says that work is more important than happiness!

    Shouldn't there be a balance ?

Why do parents do that? Especially to people our age

  • What do you when your cat gets distressed over someone that's away for 6 weeks?

My sister is going away for 6 weeks to japan representing her school, and I'm kind of worried as one of my cats is very close to her, I mean extremely close, that close that he goes up to her whenever she enters the room, she thinks that my cat will become distressed and my mother thinks that of cats get distressed they can shut down and die! Is this true? And if it is is there anything we can do to prevent the cat for being distressed?

  • What does it mean when a boyfriend says: I love you I don't think anything can change that?

Hi all, I had a fight with my boyfriend, it was to do with his ex, he claims he didn't have feelings for her, I couldn't believe it as exes have dumped me in the past, he got upset and believed that I didn't trust him, I do, I was just upset that he mentioned he saw his ex, I told him I was sorry as I really love him, he's made me feel a lot better as a person, he said he needed time to contemplate our relationship and then said he decided to stay with me, and said he loved me and he didn't think anything could change that! What does it mean? He's not staying just because he loves me is he? There has to be a reason on why he loves isn't there?

  • How long should a couple see each other?

People say that you should see your partner a lot when you're in a relationship, is that true? When I did have a boyfriend my father practically pushed me to see him, but is there a rule that you have to see them every week? I'm asking for future reference because if I do end up with somebody then I don't want to feel bad if we don't see each other all the time

Please take it easy on me because I've really fallen for him, and I don't know what to do

  • Do when two people who get along have a fight, does it mean they really care about each other?

Ok I posted a question an hour ago or so about us having a fight, and him saying I think we might just forget this happened,we were fighting about what another guy said to me and always seems very interested about what happened and was asking a few days out of curiosity whether I decided to go out with the guy. And he's also very supportive in his messages he gets offensive when I mentioned I hardly have any friends, he says "do I count as a friend?" And he's very mature in what he says! I felt scared when I had a fight with him, I was scared of losing him, if you fight with someone you generally get a long with, would it mean you really care for each other?

Strangely the guy in my course claims he doesn't havent a crush on me, as he snapped when others thought he did, another guy asked me out and now he is concerning himself over it! Why is he concerning himself over the fact someone else asked me out, he asked me out of curiosity if I decided to go out with the guy, I mean why is he concerning himself over it?

  • What does it mean when a guy sends you messages about being in need of a boyfriend?

I was texting a guy who I originally ended the friendship with as he said his friends take up his time, but he was upset and wanted to be my friend, he's very caring though, like he even offered to research ways for me to meditate in order to help me sleep! he's very mature, but he said this to me ... I don't normally say this but it kinda seems like what you need most is a boyfriend... I mean what does that mean?
