I play softball (fast-pitch) and it's the best sport ever!!!!! "We all have ability. The difference is how we use it." -Stevie Wonder "Commitment to the team - there is no such thing as in-between, you are either in our out."-Pat Riley “The nice thing about teamwork is that you always have others on your side”- Margaret Carty “It is not a question of how well each process works, the question is how well they all work together.”-Lloyd Dobens “If you can laugh together, you can work together”-Robert Orben “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.”-Michael Jordan “If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there.”-Lewis Carroll “Your birth is a mistake you'll spend your whole life trying to correct.”-Chuck Palahniuk “Tears are words the heart can't express” “To wish you were someone else is to waste the person you are.” “Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal."

  • Why do we typically eat outside on the Fourth of July?

I was just wondering why. My family has always eaten outside or with neighbors outside. Why do we have this tradition?

  • Softball Question?

Okay, this Friday is softball tryouts for my school. I've played baseball for many years and I've been practicing with a softball, but I have a few questions.

First let me say this: I've met all the players & coach and I go to strength & conditioning with them and to the batting cages, so it's not like I don't know what's going on. He said tryouts would be Friday and there'd be a cut and one additional tryout.

    My Questions:

    1. Do I need my own bat? (At the batting cages they had team bats, but I used my friend's)

    2. When they hit grounders to you, are they as fast as they are in a game, or is it just to see your technique?

    3. Is it harder to see the ball in the gym? (It's cold here, so we have them in the gym)

    4. When people say 'long throws', how long are they? And are they just looking to see if you throw straight and accurate?
