In an anarchic society, would a syndicate of citizens dedicated to enforcing a social contract (that was presumably agreed to by the citizens of said society) be considered coercive? I'm thinking that because it is a defensive reaction to something that may harm other citizens, it would simply be seen as defensive and reactionary.

The "godless" pseudo-communists of Stalin's regime, or the countless psychopathic religions throughout ALL of history? I'm trying to prove a point to someone, forgive me if this sounds stupid...

Wouldn't introducing religion into government be just as oppressive to those who don't practice the established religion as a big government is? Do most conservatives believe this?
I'm interested in a decent, intelligent conversation... please keep it classy, guys.

I'm 16 and have recently decided that I should start looking for universities to apply for. I have a strong love and deep knowledge of history and found out that Cambridge University is the top history-teaching university in the whole of the world. I'm just curious about how different life will be in England. I hear that it's more laid-back and people are generally friendlier... I also want to know about the political climate. I'm very outspoken and I want to know if there is a disdain for liberalism, socialism, libertarianism, and/or Marxism.

And their ignorance of how conservatism has failed throughout history? Do they seem too right-wing compared to the rest of the first-world (I'm aware that's an outdated term, but I couldn't think of more modern diction) countries?
