Violin purchase for a left handed almost five year old?
I want to get a violin for my daughter who will be turning five in January. She is left handed and I don't know much about Violins. Except that they sound beautiful and are recomended for younger kids who are starting out. Please any advice on how to proceed? Who to buy from? Should I buy something that is "left handed"? I can't afford too much but I also don't want to miss out on giving her this chance to learn and start young.
7 AnswersClassical7 years agoWant to lose weight but have weak knees?
I am 5 foot 5 and 175 pounds. I would like to lose about 40 pounds. But I have no muscle built up. I went through two pregnancies and was never really "in shape". I have weak knees. ( any way to strenghten them?) But I like to walk and listen to music but unfortunately have a hard time to get away to do so. But I am tired of looking like this. I would love to lose it quickly but my main concern isn't quickly but effectively. My sister is getting married next August so it'd be cool to be 40 pounds lighter for the bridesmaid dress! I am terrible at drinking water and drink a ton of diet soda and I know that will help me and I am working on drinking more water. :P I guess any advice is helpful. I would like to get a treadmill or tread climber but finding one that isn't overly expensive is difficult.
36 AnswersDiet & Fitness7 years agoMy son is 10 1/2 months old and doesn't..?
really crawl. He army crawls has been for a few months now. He just recently made a few crawling "steps" but he will not really try he just army crawls. he doesn't try to pull himself up on things and doesn't really sit himself up either. He will just lay there and scream. He just learned how to wave bye bye and he still doesn't clap or anything. My daughter will be three here in less than a month and she was very early in everything. She walked at nine months and talked full sentences by the time she was two. she knows her abc's and 123's and is even learning basic math. but my son doesn't seen to want to do anything. He has been colicky since he was born. Very hard to handle. THere will be times where you can put him down with toys around him and he will play for a while but as soon as he sees me he will start crying and he doesn't like his crib. His only good naps is when we put him in the swing. (we do not leave him unattended in it.) He doesn't really even develop in his eating habits or sleeping habits. he has been taking naps every 2-3 hours since he was about 3 months. He has been taking 5-6 ounces of formula since he was about five months. Of course there was jar food added to the equation then too.. idk i could just be paranoid. I heard boys develop slower and your second can as well since you can't give them as much attention as the first. He also likes to scratch. I don't know if he knows what he is doing at this age or not. I have scratched all over my chest from he scratching and grabbing. He laughs and he plays and smiles and giggles like a normal baby though and he does progress just really really slow it seems and i'm nervous something is wrong or im doing something wrong. Any advice is helpful. Thank you.
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby8 years agoHaving troubles with Corel Paint shop, please help?
If anyone owns or is familiar with Corel Paintshop Pro Ultimate X3 i need your help. I am still learning (self teaching) this program and for some reason all of a sudden when i try to put text onto a picture, even when it is at its biggest setting, it prints teeny tiny. The picture is in JPEG format so i know its not that. (if that would have an effect on it.) Is there something i accidently moved or clicked or need to do so?
Software9 years agoIs Pediasure addictive?
My daughter is not underweight last time She was taken in. She was seen at her 2 yr check and was at 48% which is on the low end for her especially since she is very tall. But she doesn't ever want to eat and makes me very nervous. She has been very moody lately and wakes up crabby. I'm worried she isn't getting enough nutrition. She doesn't look underfed. She isn't fat by any means but she isn't anorexia skinny. But I was thinking about giving her pediasure to help out. She likes it but I looked at some random reviews and about half of them were saying that it was addictive? And really packs on the pounds? I don't want to make her gain too much weight I just think she needs to get some vitamins and other things that she may be missing out of her diet??? And advice???
3 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years agoPlease help! Have troubles finding baby monitor! Any suggestions?
Okay, i have been searching for weeks for a good baby monitor that has video, operates with a 2.4 ghz or dect so there is minimal interference. Either a portable audio or the video itself is portable. Prefer the camera to be wall mountable but if its necessary we can make do with out. Doesn't have to have anything special like lullabies or night lights or anything. But something with a good range as well and indicator for out of range and battery life would be great. And doesn't cost a couple of hundred dollars???? I would really really really like to find something like this but apparently it doesn't exist? Almost every video monitor i come across has bad reviews somewhere. :( Any help would be great. A name to look up? where to get it? I have been searching Amazon, Walmart, Baby's R' Us, target, etc. Maybe i need to be a little lenient on something? idk. HELP please!

1 AnswerNewborn & Baby9 years agoIs my baby in breech position?
Last time they checked the heartbeat (almost 2 weeks ago) they found it on the top left of my prego belly. I was around 34 weeks. I feel most movement on the right side of my stomach and every no and then on the lower part of my abdomen on both left and right. If so is it likely he might still flip with only a few weeks left? this is my second child but with my daughter i carried her so differently and we never had any indicators that she wasn't laying the way she was suppose to. Idk. I am just a paranoid mommy and hoping that i don't have to have a c-section. I have my 36 week appointment on Tuesday. So i can ask doc then but was curious what other mothers had to say :S

6 AnswersBaby Names1 decade agoOne year old who wont eat?
Okay so my daughter is one year old and very behind on the solid food. She won't take jar food which is fine because she is old enough where she doens't need it but the problem is she wont eat a lot of the food i put in front of her. I put green beans in front of her and she wouldn't eat them i put mashed potatoes in front of her and she did eat some but played with most of it. Im extreamly panicked when it comes to this cuz i am scared to death she is going to choke so i am sure that doesn't help things. But i am not sure what to feed her!? I need some major help. My husband and i were never healthy eaters and we both don't know how to cook really and never seem to have time to do so... SO if anyone has quick and cheap meal ideas for a one year old i am open to them! We are going crazy because we are not sure what to feed her and she wont eat her jar food and is still pretty attatched to her bottle and she wont drink out of her sippy cup really and we think she might be a bit lactose intolerant we gave her some 1% milk and she threw up..idk what to do im loosing my mind...
2 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade ago1 year old not wanting solid foods?
My daughter will be turning a year old in just a few days. She takes her bottles fine and for a while she would take her jar food but lately (like the past few weeks or more) we have to fight with her to take her jar food and even when we get her to take some she doesn't take as much( use to take two jars now we can maybe get her to take one and a half). She kind of started taking little bits of regular food here and there just recently. Like today she has eaten a cheerio here and there and she had a little bit of a pickle. But some of the pickle she just let sit in her mouth until i took it out. and for the longest time when we tried to give her like mashed potatoes or bread or anything with texture since she was sixth months or so she would gag and spit it out. we never forced her to take anything we just had her try it every now and then. We started her on jar food at sixth months like the doctor said and she reacted like she was suppose to she leaned in to take the bite and everything. we make her 8 oz bottles but she doesn't always take the whole thing..And lately she has been sleeping alot more too. Today every diaper i changed had a bit of diarrhea like poop in it. Not a lot but a little...idk.. maybe i am being paranoid (I tend to do that alot) but I just worry. She has her one year apt on the seventeenth with her doctor and on the 6th with wic...
1 AnswerToddler & Preschooler1 decade agoPregnancy or something else?
So, here's the deal. My breasts hurt, sometimes a dull ache and sometimes a stabbing pain. My lower abdomen is crampy sometimes again a dull ache and sometimes a stabbing. I have been pregnant once before and some of these pains remind me of pregnancy. But I have been getting negative tests. My doctor says its possible that its just too early too tell. I also think I may have a slight yeast infection. Again the increase in vaginal fluids is another thing with pregnancy. Not too mention i have been super emotional. But again i have been getting negative tests.I also have been getting more frequent headaches and body aches. I guess my question is: Is there anything else that fits any of these symptoms? Or is pregnancy pretty much it? My breasts hurt the most out of all of it, the cramps are not as regular. I'm going to take another test on monday (when my doctor suggested to take one). But in the meantime I just wanna make sure that nothing else could be wrong??

2 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoWhat can i do to help my daughter's teething?
She has been teething for a very long time. She is going to be 8 months on september 13th and she has been teething since around 4 months it seems. Drool, biting everything, feverish, and lately it seems that its getting worse. She wont sleep very well. She she chews on her hands and anything else she can get in her mouth. I try to give here teethers but she crawls now so she doesn't keep interest in it very long. She wont take a pacifier (which I guess isn't a terrible thing) I try to put orajel on her gums but she clamps down tight when I try. I get some on them but not as much as I think she needs. Im loosing sleep and my husband has a bad back and a full time job...I work part time and we are just going nuts. Is there anything we can do to help or is it just something we have to wait out? How long did your baby teeth? I heard its possible that when a baby teeths for a long time before teeth come it means multiple are pushing out at once?
2 AnswersParenting1 decade ago14 week old daughter.. what can I do..?
My daughter is 14 weeks old, what do I need to do to help stimulate her? I know about tummy time and obviously talking to her helps. She tries to sit up all the time so I grab her by the hands to help her sit up. She has her pack n play she lays in with her mobil and she has some toys that talk or just play music and her little floor gym that she lays in and there are toys above her that she can try to grab or kick. she can grab her feet and every time something gets put in her hand she tries to bring it to her mouth so she can gnaw or suck on it. She coos and giggles and stuff. She hates tummy time but she can hold her head up off the ground and sometimes (for a short second) she can pick her chest up but of course as soon as she brings her leg up her front half goes back down lol. I just feel like im not doing enough to help her learn. I know every baby grows at his or her own rate but i just want to be doing everything that I can. Any suggestions welcome :) Thanks in advance.

3 AnswersParenting1 decade agobabies and tv, whats your opinion please?
I asked a previous question and in it i mentioned that my 10 week old daughter has a tendency to be mesmerized by the television. Someone mentioned that this was unhealthy. that it caused overstimulation? When I sit down to watch a show and im holding her she tries to watch too. and it keeps her calm and occupied. I don't only watch tv. We play with her toys and she has a gym she can lay in or we sit in her boppy pillow to help with her stomach muscles and tummy time..etc..but when i watch tv she cranes her neck sometimes or turns her head so she can see it. she likes it. whats your opinion on this. She is 10 weeks old at this point and she has been entertained by this since she became aware of her surroundings. So ok or bad for a baby to watch television? Just curious to see what people have to say.
16 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade ago10 weeks old and barely sleeps...?
I have a 10 week old daughter and during the day she has mini little cat naps and they are very few. Which doesn't see normal at that age. She does sleep for about a five hour stretch before getting up for a bottle and then about a three hour stretch at night time. She does a lot of activity she already is tensing her stomach muscles to try and sit up and she has plenty of toys I play for her and she loves watching tv. But she doesn't really sleep. She has four ounces roughly every two hours during the day sometimes she goes three hours. But then sometimes she will eat the four ounces and then an hour later start to cry until I give her another ounce in which she does drift off to sleep..until I put her down in her bassinet and then a couple of minutes later shes awake...and sometimes even when I hold her they are short naps..is this normal?
