Well let's see. My degree is in Computer Science, but i last programmed professionally full-time in 1990. I have done a lot with programming, hardware deign, etc. I currently teach computer network technology at the college level. My interests lie in just about anything technical including the sciences, math, some engineering areas, dabbling in electronics and robotics. I can occassionally be found doing family history/genealogy research. I also like various flavors of music, including classical and jazz, art, humanities, etc. And last (for now), I also enjoy things French, Geneva Switzerland having been my home away from home in my distant past. (Gee, I'd love to go back!!!)

I want to build a timer that will display two digits to the left of the decimal, but display 3 digits to the right (1/1000 of a second). Displays are standard 7-segment LEDs. I don't want to use a microcontroller, just discrete digital logic, such as 74xx-series.
