Please explain the Spanish grammar in this sentence using te.?
Pueblo mío te dejo sin alegría. I think it means, "Village of mine, you I leave, without joy." I don't understand why te is used. Why not just say, "Pueblo mío dejo sin alegria." Please help me understand.
2 AnswersLanguages6 years agoPH of water at 46 deg C with Kw of x?
I did the work but I am looking for someone to check me. I'll be using this as an example to study for my AP class final, so o want to study only correct work.
Figure out the pH of H2O at 46 deg C.
Kw = 1.219 x 10^-14.
Here's what I did:
sq rt of both sides = 1.104 x 10^-7
pH = -log [H+] = -log (1.104 x 10^-7) = 6.96
Is this right?
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoCalculate pH of solution with given pH?
I did this Chen problem myself, but I am looking for someone to see if I did it right. I am using the example to study for a test, do I want to be sure I have it down.
Figure out the hydroxide ion concentration of a solution with pH of 3.25.
I took 14 minus 3.5 which is 10.5. OH=10^-10.5=3.162x10^-11 M
Have I done this right? Thank you!
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoArchimedes Principle is used to find:?
I know it should be buoyant force. But the choices are:
A. mass
B. volume
C. water displacement
D. density
I believe the best choice is D., density. But all the other choices are relevant terms. Please respond if you know for certain. Thank you.
2 AnswersChemistry6 years agoWhat compound is soluble, pH neutral, stains skin?
I need to be certain j have this right. What compound is solvable in water, is neither acidic nor basic, and will discolor skin dark gay or black? I think it is silver nitrate, based on being sure it stains skin black and is soluble. But, is it neither an acid not a base?
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoIs silver nitrate an acid, a base, or neither?
I know it is soluble in water and stains the skin black. I just need to know if it is neutral or not.
1 AnswerChemistry6 years ago"Separate numerous ions" "Qualitative analysis"?
Finishing a lab on ionic reactions. In my lab, I mixed 5 different nitrates with each of 7 different sodium solutions to form precipitates, and did the ionic and net ionic equations and answered questions. Now I'm asked: "There is a course called qualitative analysis which allows the student to separate numerous ions. What are some hazards that must be presented to in sure that the ions would be separated correctly?" I can't find anything in the associated textbook chapters, glossary, or index.
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoRemove silver from silver nitrate?
In my lab, I mixed 5 different nitrates with each of 7 different sodium solutions to form precipitates, and did the equations. Now I'm asked, if silver nitrate had been one of the nitrates (too expensive, so wasn't included in lab), what could I usd as an anion to remove silver from solution? I thought of NaCl, but my equation shows the product as AgCl. But that is a compound, so I think it may not be correct since the Ag is not standing alone. What do you think of my answer? Which anion can be added to silver nitrate to cause precipitation of Ag?
2 AnswersChemistry6 years agoDid the nitrates prove cations or anions?
5 different nitrate solutions were each mixed with 7 different sodium compound solutions. Did the nitrates provide the cations or anions? Which type of ions did the sodium compounds provide? I did the ionic equations and the actual experiment and read the chapter. I know cations have a positive charge and anions have a negative charge, but I still don't know the answer. Please explain. Thank you!!
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoNitrates and sodium compounds react. Cations and ions?
Five different nitrates were each combined with 7 different sodium compounds in solution. Did the nitrates provide the cations or anions? Which type of ions did the sodium compounds provide? I did the ionic equations and the actual experiment and read the chapter. I know cations have a positive charge and anions have a negative charge, but I still don't know the answer. Please explain. 1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoTiming to start seeds indoors?
I am in zone 5A. I plan to start all my flower and herb plants indoors from seeds. I'll transplant all my seedlings on Memorial Day Weekend. The seed packets give germination times and they tell the amount of time until a flower blooms. It does not tell when to start seedlings indoors to be transplanted into a garden later. I realize it will vary depending on which plants I'm growing. I need to know how to determine when to start each type indoors if I'm transplanting around May 24.
1 AnswerGarden & Landscape6 years agoAre nitrates always soluble in water?
I know some nitrates are soluble in water. Are ALL nitrates soluble in water? What is the most important fact about nitrates. (Yes, I know they are cheaper than day rates.) but I need to know the chemistry answer.
Chemistry6 years agoIs Cu(NO3)2 copper nitrate a water-soluble acid?
I did a lab. The copper nitrate appeared to dissolve in water. It turned blue litmus pink, so it is an acid. I am checking my answers. Do my results make sense?
2 AnswersChemistry6 years agoDoes litmus paper work if a substance isn t soluable?
I had several substances. Added distilled water to each. Some were soluable. Some were not. Then I tested the liquid in each test tube with red and blue litmus papers. I am guessing that if the substance wasn't soluable, the litmus test doesn't work, as it would only be testing the distilled water. Is that correct? In other words, if the substance was acidic or basic, and wasn't solvable in the distilled water, the litmus test would read that the liquid was neutral because the distilled watef was neutral. Pkease don't guess, but answer if you are sure. Thank you.
1 AnswerChemistry6 years agoPH of distilled water?
Hi. If I buy distilled water at a grocery store and test it with litmus paper, will it be acidic, basic, or neutral? I can't use watef from home for my chemistry lab online course because we have hard water from a well. My current experiment involves checking substances with litmus paper after adding each one to a little water. I want to make sure I know whether the water I start with, distilled water, is neutral. Thanks.
5 AnswersChemistry6 years agoHow Do Red and Blue Litmus Paper Work!?
I just completed a very long chemistry lab in a home course. On each of six substances, I had to do several tests including test it on both red and blue litmus strips after diluting with distilled water. Now I am asked to explain which were acids, bases, and neutral, and how I determined my answers. The packets of pink and blue litmus papers does not explain why there are two colors and what the results mean. Please help me understand.
