  • Why is my computer freezing on startup? (Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium)?

    I am running Windows 7 64-Bit Home Premium on a Alienware M17-R1

    My problem is that sometimes when I turn my computer on it will only load a black screen. It doesn't even make it to the part where I can go into my BIOS or Boot Order. The only way I can fix this so far is by doing a force shutdown by holding the power key down. It then reboots itself all on it's own.

    It doesn't happen all the time but it happens enough that it bothers me.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    (Added notes, I recently installed a new hard drive and RAM)

  • What does "Up to 4 GB (2 Slots)" mean when I'm talking about RAM?

    I have a Alienware M17-R1 and I am planning on incresing the amount of RAM that I have.

    Currently I have 2GBs and I read somewhere that it can hold 8GBs Max, but somewhere else I saw "Up to 4 GBs (2 Slots)"

    If some could explain this to me I would be very grateful.

  • How would I filter/remove corn starch from water?

    I am doing a project for my Environmental Science class in high school.

    I need to be able to filter a list of different substances from "contaminated water"

    My main focus is how to filter/remove corn starch in the water. I have tried to look it up with Google, and still am.

    But I was hoping someone may have an answer on here.

  • How do I install Windows Vista on a PC with Ubuntu 8.04 on it?

    I have a PC with Ubuntu 8.04 on it.

    NOTHING ELSE

    NO OTHER OS IS ON THE PC

    Now I want to put Windows Vista on it so I can see how it is.

    But it won't read the CD, and even if it did, I don't think it would know how to run auto.exe file.

    Does anyone know how I can get Vista on my Ubuntu PC?
