Bass Fishin' B I T C H

My name is Kelly. I am a girl. I've been fishing my entire life, I was taught how to cast before I learned how to walk. I learned how to use a baitcasting reel by the time I was 7. I fish for bass primarily, but sometimes wander into the panfish and I hate trout. I take my bass fishing very very seriously. I own my boat that I bought (and am still paying for) myself.

  • Have you ever fished from your float tube NAKED?

I did it this past Saturday! A friend and I jumped the gate with our float tubes and a couple rods and tubed the Castaic Lagoon at night. I usually wear short shorts, a tank top, and a pair of cheap tennis shoes to slip my swim fins over when I'm float tubing unless a pair of waders is required. But lastnight was different. It was my first time breaking into a place to fish, so I figured what the hell, might as well make it even more fun. I launched, got about about 20 yards from the ramp, looked around and stripped. ALL THE WAY. I tossed my top and shorts into the bow of the tube and went along my way. My friend didn't seem to mind once he saw I was in the nude working a plastic worm. He didn't want to undressed when I told him to strip.

Anyway, IT WAS AWESOME! The weather was nice, it was a great night, clear and calm, and pretty warm too. Fishing was good also... I was hot! I caught two limits of bass on drop shotted 4 1/2" Margarita Mutilator colored Roboworms soft plastics. The biggest was about 9 1/2 pounds, not a bad fish for the Castaic Lagoon. The rest were between 1 1/2 and 3 pounds.

I had fun. It was one of those fishing experiences that I definitely will not forget. I might have to do it again soon. Especially later on in the Summer when the nights get really warm. So, stop picturing girls fishing naked and and answer the question.

    LoL.

  • I picked up a couple Penn reels at a swap meet this morning........?

    *very evil chuckle*

I picked up a Penn 920 Level Wind, 930 Level Wind and a 940 Levelmatic for dirt cheap. The 920 was $15, the 930 was $20 and the 940 was $25. Both my grandfather and dad have had these in the past and they say I got them for one hell of a f*cking steal. That's my dad's words. I think I did also. What do you think? I asked them both if they thought they were Penn's attempt at a bass reel. My grandfather said maybe. He used his for catfish and light saltwater. My dad said he used his for calico bass off the party boats.

They're in excellent condition, just about PRISTINE. No scratches, marks or boat rash on them. The only thing is, the 940 is missing the end cap. Can I find the end cap somewhere?

I have a Penn 955, 965 and 975 that I use for heavy duty bass fishing when I'm throwing big swimbaits. But what can I use these for? These reels are so cute!

  • How many different colors of Plastics can you think of off the top of your head?

I mean right off the top of your head. No thinking. No links. None of that copy and paste bullshit either. That's cheating.

Plastic worms, Senkos, grubs, craws, trailers, creature baits, it doesn't matter, as long as it is a soft plastic of some sort.

Best Answer goes to whoever lists the most. Thumbs up to those who list their single, absolute NUMBER 1 favorite color, size/length and style of rig.

  • Semi-professionally built wooden swimbait weight?

I'm in the process of building a wooden trout swimbait. A friend of the family has a big wood shop where he custom builds stuff for homes and whatnot and he let me use his shop.

Anyway, the body is made from redwood and is about 15 1/2" long (about an inch and half longer than I actually wanted it) and about 3 1/4" wide. It's jointed in three places with internal joints.

My question is, how much do you think this trout would weigh when it's finished? I don't have a scale to weigh it myself since I quit smoking pot on a regular basis, that's why I'm curious. I have the body complete, only need details, painting, fins, and tail. I'm just hoping to be done with it within the next couple months, before the start of Winter when my lake starts stocking trout.

  • Which would be better?

My dad's birthday is coming up fast (Aug 5th) and I want to get him a small craft. He has a couple boats already and three float tubes. And a kayak.

Damn, Daddy has a lot of fishing stuff! Never realized that!

I was thinking something along the lines of an inflatable boat sort of thing, for the local harbors or in the surf just beyond the breakers.

With the FoldCat, I was thinking the 375fc or the 440fc
