1. In these chapters several disturbing things happen to Melinda: She faints at school; IT approaches her at school; the guidance counselor calls her parents about her bad grades, etc. After these things happen, Melinda describes the weather: "A minor blizzard blows outside. The weather lady says it's a lake-effect story. The wind from Canada sucks up water from Lake Ontario, runs it through the freeze machine, and dumps it on Syracuse. I can feel the wind fighting to break through our storm windows. I want the snow to bury our house." How does this description of weather mirror Melinda's feelings and what is going on with her at this point in the book? Thanks sooo much for the help!!
