Earphone stopped working on one side, but no loose wires; what's wrong with it?
I dropped them a couple of feet, so I expected that a wire came loose somewhere, but when I opened them up, everything was in place. The right side (not working) looks exactly the same as the left side (which is working perfectly). Jiggling/moving the wires produces no effect.
Is there something simple I'm missing, or do I have to buy a new set of headphones?
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players6 years agoHow bad is it to sleep with an ex-girlfriend's friend?
I broke up with my last girlfriend in November, and I'm considering going over to her best friend's place to party and mess around.
Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it since we're not dating any more and haven't been for a while; if the situation was reversed, I wouldn't really care. However, I've been told that most people view these things differently, so I wanted to know how bad it is considered to be.
2 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoRed spots on chest, stomach, and back?
Five days ago I developed a fever, sore throat, headache, fatigue, and overall soreness. This lasted until two days ago, and since then I've had only a sore throat, headache, and fatigue. This morning, however, I took a shower and noticed afterwards that I had little red spots over my chest. A few minutes ago I noticed that these spots are now on my stomach and back as well.
I have been told that I have the measles, but this does not make any sense to me since not only did I not have any respiratory problems aside from allergies, but I also was vaccinated for that when I was a child. Any information would be appreciated.
1 AnswerOther - Health1 decade agoBug/glitch of some sort (SC2)?
I was playing on the novice version of the steppes of war (still playing practice games :/ ), and whenever I try to have my Stalkers blink over a ledge, they just can't do it. So far I hadn't seen anyone else jumping ledges with Stalkers or Reavers, so I thought that you just can't jump ledges at all in Novice maps to prevent rushing. Some guy playing Terran just did that somehow and destroyed most of my units, and I'm confused.
Can someone explain what's going on?
(One SC2 forum was down and the other one won't let me post (?) so that's why I'm here).
1 AnswerVideo & Online Games1 decade agoCan I be charged for this?
My son had a bunch of friends over recently, and one of them decided to visit the darker corners of the internet. When I walked into the computer room, he was logged on to a pornography site. He tried to close the window and run, but I have my browser set to ask for confirmation, so I was able to see that he had several tabs open. When I looked at one of them, I saw that he was logging onto the site with a password someone had posted on an imageboard.
I need to know if the site can contact my ISP and have me charged because the site was accessed with a stolen account, or if I can get into any other kind of legal trouble.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoRuneScape users: would you pay for a bot?
I am making a bot that will be able to perform many different tasks (mining, attacking, woodcutting, fishing, and many others) and that will also have features to prevent the user from being banned. Would you pay US $1-$3 (0.74-2.20 EUR, 0.67-2 GBP) for something like this?
The main reason it's only going to be a dollar or two is because it will not be updated; instead, a new version will be released if Jagex somehow finds ways to detect the original. Instead of paying for a subscription to use it or buying amounts of time, each version of the program will be purchasable for an unlimited usage.

9 AnswersHoroscopes1 decade agoWhich trumpets (key... as in Bb vs C vs Eb, etc) are more capable of a better classical sound?
I have been playing the Bb trumpet for five years, and I want to buy another trumpet so I can play that as well. I am trying to develop more of a classical sound, and I was wondering what kind of trumpet would best fit that. I've been trying to find comparisons of C, Eb, D(flat?), and piccolo trumpets, but I haven't had much luck. If anyone who knows what he is talking about can give me some advice, I would appreciate it.
4 AnswersClassical1 decade agoI'm shooting high and to the right?
Well, I got my first rifle a few months ago, and I have been to the range twice (once with the .22 barrel and once with the .243). Both times, I noticed that I was shooting a little bit high and always to the right. I can't figure out exactly why... can anyone provide some steps to figure out what I'm doing wrong?
If it helps, I'm cross-dominant and shooting with my dominant hand (right). I tried shooting left-handed, but it was extremely awkward.

3 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoTexas boating laws regarding amphibious vehicles?
I'm making an amphibious vehicle out of my truck, and I need to know if I have to register it as a boat. Also, will I have to follow the laws that boats have to abide by, like having a serial number on the side?

4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhy do people spam Yahoo Answers?
I've seen about six spam answers in the past half hour alone. Honestly, what's the point? Is anyone actually stupid enough to follow a link when the answer is incredibly generic or has a million items and their prices listed?
2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoHow would one turn a pickup truck into an amphibious vehicle?
I have a small pickup truck that I want to turn into an amphibious vehicle. I need an engineer's help to figure out what I would have to do to it. I know that I would have to make the doors and engine compartment watertight and move the air intake to the top of the car, but there are some other things that I'm not sure about, like would I have to move the exhaust pipe so that it vents above the water?
Also, I know that I'm not thinking of a million other things, so can anyone who works on cars/boats or is smarter than me in general list the things that I would need to take care of?
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoWhat defensive handgun caliber would you recommend?
I am considering buying a handgun that will eventually be kept for defensive purposes. I have been reading as much as I can about handguns in the past few weeks. I know about the dangers of keeping guns around, and I know that if I have one that means that I would have to shoot to kill or risk it being used against me. I'm also not completely new to firearms, and I intend to take a handgun course from the nearest place that gives one.
I'm only looking for personal recommendations from people who have experience with handguns. I'm not looking for the generic "whatever fits you best" answer as I am just looking where to start, so I don't know what fits me best. Also, I don't want to hear anything from gun control hippies.
The calibers I have considered looking at first are: .357 magnum, .357 SIG, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. I don't want something with too much recoil, but I do want to be able to stop someone quickly.
As for the kind of gun I want, I would strongly prefer a revolver or a VERY reliable semi-automatic pistol. The only good kind of jam is strawberry jam.
15 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoCamouflage question for Marines/Soldiers/Airmen?
Well, I need to buy a vest for paintball. Thought that I would put it in this section because my problem is with its... uhh... "camoflagistic" qualities.
The shirt and pants that I have are digital camo with an uncommon amount of dark brown. The vest that I am looking at comes in three options: grey-ish, light green desert-plant-looking camo (like the Army wears in the middle east); a light woodlands camo that has mostly green; and black.
I know that camo works by breaking up my outline, and that is why I want my vest to match as closely as possible to my shirt and pants. If I pick the green one, will it still work because it matches the local woods well enough, or can people see me because there is a significant difference between it and the shirt?
If I pick the black one, will it be very noticeable in the woods?
4 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoAre there any proxies that let you download files?
OK, we all hate Rapidshare's download limits, right? I need to find a proxy or proxies that can help me get around the stupid wait limits.
Basically, the proxy server(s) need to be free and also support uploading/downloading files. Speed is not an issue as long as the connection is not too slow.
7 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoThe tech department has gone too far! Any ideas?
OK, the tech department at my school district crossed the last line earlier today. I am not going to post the entire story here, but it is kind of interesting, I guess I can add it as a detail if people want to see it.
Anyway, I am thinking about declaring war on them. If anyone has any ideas for annoying them, please tell me. I need stuff that will really piss them off, but that I can also get away with. I want to be able to take CS next year.
Some ideas that I already have are:
-Bring a laptop and print stuff out on their printer(s)
-Use said laptop to take remote control of some of the computers
-Mess with the BIOS on the computers (they do not have a password for some reason, what idiots)
-Install Linux on the computers, and then mess with/uninstall that Vision Software
-Use Linux to alter critical Windows files (I hate Windows)
As I said, if you have any ideas, list 'em here. If they won't work but are really funny, go ahead and put them here anyway.
