I would like to play the double bass in my school's jazz band next year, and because I already play cello, want to use CGDA tuning.

My question is, would I need to buy special strings or something to do this? Or would it just be a simple matter of turning the pegs till it's a second or third off and then just playing it like a big cello?

For an upcoming Solo and Ensemble festival, me and a friend have gotten together a brass quintet composed of 2 Bb Trumpets, a French Horn, a Trombone, and a B.C. Baritone. I have looked all over the internet and haven't been able to find a single score written for this instrumentation. I should also mention all the people in the quintet are at a high school level, and very good at playing.

Any suggestions of where I can find some music?

I am buying Super Smash Bros. Brawl for my Wii, and I want to know whether or not it can be bought used. I have found it like new for very cheap on ebay and other websites, but I have heard that SSBB has downloadable content on it that can only be used once. Is this true, or should I spend $25 more dollars to buy the new version. (Which I don't want to do)

I just recently got into rom hacking, and I signed up for SMWCentral. I use lunar magic and do SMW, if that makes a difference.

I went and downloaded a hack and tried to run it in my emulator (snes9x) but it said the rom had a bad checksum. The rom is a .ips extention.

I am doing a research project on the history of the swastika. I want to focus the thesis on the history as a whole and not just Nazi use. My body consists of four main points:

Early history of the swastika

Use before Nazi adoption

A change in meaning (Nazi usage)

The swastika today

So far I have for my thesis: Even though the swastika's original meaning was life and good-luck, because of the Nazis the swastika's meaning has changed to the opposite and now one of the most hated symbols worldwide.

Is this good or can anyone think of something better?

I just recently got Adobe After Effects CS5 and for my first test, I imported a JPEG image and added an effect to it. I am done, and now I don't know how to export it back out as a JPEG. Help?
