car trouble - what could it be?
I tried to start my car today and it would not start. I turn the key in the ignition, the lights come on, the alarm peeps to put on my seat belt. i turn the key all the way thru and all i hear is a little humming. No clicking no nothing else. I turned the key 4 times. The lights come on, the beeping starts, but just a little humming. What can it be?
It is a 2005 Pontiac Wave/Aveo.
Can I attach booster cables to start it? ( though I do not think it is the battery) or do I need it towed to the garage? thx for your advice.
5 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation10 years agoelectrical question - re burned wire or what? hmm?
3 months ago I had 2 new wall outlets added to my kitchen to accommodate a new cupboard sometime later this year. The electrician drilled a hole to the basement and fed the wires down and connected them to a connector? box (Silver, 3 - 4 inch diameter) in the basement. My question for this one: how are these wires protected since the fuse box for the different appliances is upstairs.
A week ago I used the toaster oven and the microwave at the same time - each of them plugged in separately into the TOP plug of the 2 double outlets. Both appliances shut off within 2 sec when running together - so I gather they needed too much power.
Did I burn both wires of the two outlets ? Or what happened? Because there is no juice coming out anymore from the top outlet, however the bottom ones still work.
Also - a third outlet (again the top part of the double outlet) is not working any more either since that incident.
How is this problem solvable? I did check the fuse box and none of the fuses were off.
I gather I put myself in big trouble with this confuddled incident.
Thanx for your answers.
3 AnswersEngineering10 years agoI am not receiving ANYTHING? what can i do?
I have a small TV - analog - with an indoor antenna, bigger than rabbit ears.
I bought a converter box, hooked it all up as it stated in the manual
and went into my 'menu' section of the TV to search for channels.
The TV searched and found no Channels. not even one. (I am in Hamilton)
What are my OPTIONS now to get some TV going? thank you much.
