DVD burning problem, why is this happening? the audio doesnt match the video?

I burned a MKV file to my DVD disc, using MKV to DVD soft ware, for some reason the video lags about 12 seconds behind the audio of the movie. any ideas on why this is happening, or how to fix it?

some things to note, * i only used 95% of the DVD disc for the movie

*the file initially is MKV, using a software that says it changes MKV to one compatible with DVD discs and player.

*The MKV file works perfectly on the computer, (unchanged (not DVD file) watched as an MKV File)

*MKV is like a high resolution or high definition file, i think.

Info= My Older 60GB PS3 (can play PS2 games) broke and now itwont play Blu-ray movies or Ps2 games, but still can go online and play PS3 games, but i cannot reconnect the controllers wirelessly. I have to get up connect the wire, then press the PS button. I also have 200$ to spend : okay here : should i spend the money on a repair costing 150 plus state tax, or buy a Xbox 360 and pay 90$ a year (not important though). I only like 2 PS2 gaes and only have 2 or 3 Blu ray movies, 1 has a really broken up cover and the others are mint condition. I need help financial advisors and gamers help!
