  • 2 Pumpkin pie recipes... how to combine a baked graham cracker crust with a baked pumpkin pie?

Ok here's the deal.... My mom asked me to make two different pumpkin pies for the people at work. Which I did, one was a chiffon type of pumpkin pie with a graham cracker crust which had to go into the oven for 10 mins, then you put the filling in and chilled the pie. The other was a traditional pumpkin pie with a pie crust that was baked in the oven for 25-30 mins. Everyone enjoyed both pies but everyone seemed to like the graham cracker crust on the one and the filling for the other. What I want to know is how I can combine the graham cracker crust and the traditional pumpkin pie filling without burning the crust?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Sorry I don't have the recipes with me so I can answer any questions about the actual recipes.

  • How do I get my toddler to stop thinking it's a game?

My daughter is 21 months old and has been putting objects in her mouth and then runs away. I, of course, chase after her to get it out of her mouth and the whole time she laughs. She thinks its a game and does it all the time. This morning it was a small saftey pin. I try to pick up everything so that she won't put it in her mouth but she always seems to find something! It's driving me crazy! I have tried to hit her hand and that doesn't seem to work and I don't want to do it any more. I don't want to yell, I just don't know what to do! Please, help, I'm at my wits end.

  • My daughters 2nd birthday and due date are so close!?

I know this is five months away but my husband might be leaving for three months and were thinking about this problem now.

My daughters 2nd birthday is on August 22nd and I am due with our baby boy on August 13th. So, my question is what should I do? We are thinking of possibly having the party the last weekend in August or the first weekend of September.

Another question I have is where to have this party? For her first birthday we had it at my mom's house, which was great but I was not prepared for the few problems that happened before the party and I know that my mom was not happy with me. Also, it would be mostly adults because my daughter does not have any little friends; my husband and I do not have the means to get her into a Mommy and Me class (I feel horrible about this).

I was thinking of Chuck E Cheese but there would be a lot of adults watching a few young children playing games. I thought of a tea party but again the same thing. I am just not sure what to do.

  • Pushing Daisies...?

I love the show Pushing Daisies! Anyone else just love the show of the piemaker who can bring the dead to life? I love everything about the show- the names, the bright over done colors, the odd premis. Does anyone know when this wonderful show will be back on the air? They left the show with such a cliffhanger that I want to know what's going to happen next.

  • Did anyone watch the reality show Murder on Spike?

This show had two teams of people thinking they could be a CSI and solve "actual" murders. The teams would go through a "murder" scene, take pictures, collect evidence, "talk" with suspects. The host of the show was Tommy who was a police detective. It was on at about midnight on Spike tv.

I want to know if anyone knows if this show is going to come back on again? I liked to watch the show and I don' want to miss any new episodes if it does come back on. Thanks

  • Going on a cruise with a 16 month old?!?!?

My parents are taking themselves, my sister, my brother, my husband, my 16 month old daughter, and myself on a 5 day cruise from Fort Lauterdale to Ocho Rios and Jamica. Has anyone gone on a cruise with a 16 month old? Is there anything I should take or do before we leave? Is there anything I shouldn't do on the cruise with her? What if she gets sea sick? We called her pediatrician and they said there wasn't anything we needed to do. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

  • Problems with a 1 year old sleeping in a crib?

We have been having problems getting my daughter to sleep in her crib. We have been doing the tough love, where we put her in the crib and let her be. She cries herself to sleep, then a few hours later she wakes up crying. Since, we share a room with our daughter, we eventually give up and bring her in our bed because we need to sleep and it's just easier. I know that I should just deal with it but I like my sleep. Since, she likes our bed so much, we're not sure if she doesn't like the confinement of the crib or maybe it's her bedding or maybe it's seperation anxiety.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, although if it's not constructive please don't leave a message.

  • What should my mom be called?

My mom doesn't know what she wants my daughter to call her. She hates Grandma, Nanny, and anything sounding old. At one point she was thinking Nana (pronounced Nah-na not Nay-na) but she's unsure. Please give us your suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • How many people actually like this name?

I have seen a quite a few people suggest Gabriel, for a boy, and I want to know how many of you like it? When I was pregnant last year I had mentioned that I was considering this name and some people had said that my kid would get beat up. If I do ever have a boy I still might consider naming him Gabriel but I would just like to know what you kind people thought!

  • Side effects to thyroid medication?

In October I had a left thyroidectmy (had a very big nodule). I had blood work done and my doctor said I was on the lower side of the OK range and since I had the one side taken out, they want me on the higher end of the OK range. So, last month I started the medication Levothyroxine 50 mcg. For the last month I have not been feeling myself: constantly going to the bath room, nausea, headaches. It's to the point where I hate food/eating. I want to know if something else is wrong with me or if it's side effects from the medication.

I have recently had blood work and a sonogram and everything looks good.
