  • Who do you consider to be the most overrated writers?

    I have in mind those authors whom are praised unconditionally as geniuses with any attempt to criticism them resulting in charges of being a Philistine etc. For example ( and in no particular order), James Joyce, J.D. Salinger, Franz Kafka*, Herman Melville, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Jane Austen, Friedrich Nietzsche and so on.

    *I may be being a bit unfair to K. as the tedium of reading his otherwise interesting stories could be due to a poor translation by Willa and Edwin Muir.

    P.S. Does anyone else find it odd that Yahoo warns you that 'you have a lot of punctuation'?
