  • As a Mother I feel deeply saddened about my daughters choice of having her MIL rather than me her own Mother.?

My daughter is having her first baby which is due the middle of January. Right from the day I gave her birth, I have treasured her like a little Princess & her coldness toward me today breaks my heart. After she got married 6 years ago she has become a totally cold and indifferent person toward me.

This latest choice/action of her inviting her mother in law rather than me her own biological mother to be around her when she is having her first child makes me deeply sad and depressed.

I have expressed my desire to be around her before she gives birth and she told me that she will let

me know when she starts to get contractions.

My husband thinks that her inviting her In laws and being cold and indifferent to her own parents

is not only insulting but disrespectful and hurtful. He thinks that we should not go to see her when her in laws are around and even though we are first time grand parents we should wait to see the baby after the in laws are gone. I would like to know from you readers if this action is a bit harsh.

    Thanks

  • How does one handle and fix wrong perceptions.?

I have been dealing with close family members drawing meaning out of everything I say or do.

For example, I try to help by cleaning some dishes that are piled in the sink accidently a spoon falls from my hand and I am told that I am banging things. Even after explaining that I did not bang it but rather it accidently fell from my hand the person does not believe it. This is so frasturation. Has any one experienced being falsely accused of something that is not true but rather what the accuser feels. Thanks!

  • how to handle a pathological liar?

Because of a Pathological Lying sister in law I have not had a relationship with my younger brother for over two decades. I would like to have a simple healthy relationship with my brother without having her in my life
