We just purchased a baby brazilian rainbow boa last Thursday (4-30-09) and was given a pinkie mouse as its first meal for Saturday. she would not take the mouse but instead balantly ignored it.

the humidity for us has been a problem trying to keep it at 70% is a hassle. we have the screen topped covered and sealed with clearwrap but wasnt working well so now we have ziplock bags taped down with plexiglass over.

it is now Monday 5-4-09 and she will still not take the pinky. the pinky is now a fuzzy.

the current temp is 83 and the humidity is 61.

she just shed her skin last night and pooped this morning.

If the problem is the humidity there is a humidity hiding box and a hiding cave on the cool side and a small and large water bowl in the middle.

if the humidity is really the problem please give me advice on how to keep the humidity up, we've tried everything besides buying a fogger and water fall which is too big for the enclosure we have right now (18"x18"x24").

I am currently going to college to earn a degree in pyschology. after my BS eventually I would naturally go on to get my masters and PhD, that's the goal and that's the plan. but by that time I achieve that goal. (believe me I will). I would be probably at the age of 27 and I would like to start my family then.

The problem.... If I am to have a doctorate or even masters right out of graduate school, how can i start my family? I would not want to wait until after Im 30. but I would like to jump start my career as well, I do realize that it would take me a while to establish myself among those in the same profession.

I would like suggestions on career paths that I can research in my line of study that would permit me to have a family.

and I would like some first or second accounts of women who have "done it all"

do they hurt the fish or just look fake?

my uncle recently gave me and my boyfriend his old saltwater tank and filteration system which i think is a premier wet/dry trickle filter with prefilter boxes. it has all the works, bio balls and everything. i was just wonder, since it was originally a saltwater system and tank and was used for salt water, can i just clean out the bio balls and system and use it for freshwater? I'm no stranger to freshwater just saltwater, any advice or helpful answers would be strongly appreciated.

The movie butchered the book!! the whole movie was ok if you never read the book but it totally screwed the second movie when they didnt mention AT ALL the blessed child, she plays a decent part in the second book. This movie was so disappointing, just like harry potter, at least they kept to most of the important parts. this one just was like "omg they messed up the second movie"

Many people tend to have strong or weak feelings of these two subjects or both at the same time, I would like to know how it stems about, how to overcome it or at least cope with it, and how to improve as a person.

I have a situation which has been bothering me for some time. My fiance is still aquaintances with his ex gfs and it bothers me alot, because they have all cheated on him yet when they broke up, they still treat him like he's their world, always asking to hang out for favors for whatever, and he believes in being a good person to everyone no matter what they did, there is one in particular who would not stop, she was my friend before I found out they went out for 2 1/2 years and she wont quit trying to remain in his life (the others respected me enough and kept a friendly distance) I hate her for excluding me in her life for the reason that I am with her former "man" I have dealt with him and he said he'll talk to her about it but he sees no harm in her. help.

I just got a dog about a 1 1/2 years old from the humane society, he's mixed with a breed that I dont remember and a kind of pointer dog. he's really friendly and happy and hyper. He gets into everything when we're not home, the other day he chewed into my black rug, he destroyed his bed, and I was just gone under 30 minutes and he chewed up my new sandals, and got into the laffy taffy bag. he normally leaves everything alone unless its in a bag, or bunched up [like the rug was]. how do I stop this behavior and how do I go about punishing him to the point where he wont do it again. he has his own toys but he seems to like other peoples things like cell phones.

in my home tank. why? and how can i prevent this or stop this? sunshine is currently in an isolation tank inside of the home tank.

i have three guppies, 2 females and 1 male in a minibow2.5 [yeah I know too small of a tank no room right now] a few days ago my male got ick and so I separated him into a fish bowl and treated him with quick cure and did water changes he now shows cottonlike webs on fins and open sores, in the mean time one of my female guppies [the yellow one] was ready for birth so I moved her to the hospital [minibow1] she showed small signs of ick so i treated her as lightly as i could with 1/4 to 1/2 the meds, she successfully gave birth to 25-30 healthy fry and so i moved her to the other temperory hospital tank, which is a small betta bowl, she will soon be moved to a bigger tank.

my other black/gray female who is also pregnant is showing signs of ick in the home tank [minibow2.5] should i place both females in the home tank and treat them there? the male has been completely removed to a different tank how should i go about treating him? please and thank you for the help!!

one of my really good friends decide she wanted to have a lobster but she is unsure of the ideal salinity. can someone who has experience or has time to help me research by giving great sites. please help. I welcome all HELPFUL comments.

apparently she was heavily gravid and black, then one morning she was all peachy with tiny dots but they werent as black as the other day, did she give birth then ate her babies? I have one other male and female in the tank, she is nice and plump ready to burst but she doesnt display any of the symptoms some websites say she will when she's ready to give birth, she's as active as ever! this is my first time with guppies but i did my research, i didnt find any fry in my filter, ther other fish eat their flake food like crazy, but still no babies. how do you know when your guppy is ready to have babies? and how can you tell when they had babies and have eaten them or when they have a miscarriage. thanks for your time..
