Didn't intend to Lose weight - stuck in a foreign country ?
Anybody have any 'safe' foods I can look for at the grocery stores here in Germany? It's disgusting how thin I look just after being here a week (my metabolism is frighteningly fast, and added with stress, I'm desperate for extra calories). By 'safe' I just mean something well.. American.
I'm trying to adjust to new milk, but even the cheddar cheese tastes different, and I don't entirely know which meat is safe (unless it comes in something like a full chicken breast, where it's easily identifiable). Fruits are easy to identify, but I really need something with more substance than just fruit otherwise I'm just going to wither away.
I understand I need to be open to newness and I'm trying to be, but I'm really looking for something I can get on a regular basis that is satisfying/filling, and also importantly: inexpensive (I'm on a limited budget)
Thank you for any suggestions -- whether they be just general adaptation tricks from similar situations, or specific names of foods I can be getting to bulk up.
