  • Hard drive problems - Not booting!?

I've got a 1TB drive, it's been having issues lately, I'm unable to boot into the drive at all, it goes past the post screen and then displays an underscore which moves down the screen 3 times.

I've been unable to reinstall or boot from CD/DVD as well, this does nothing i've changed the settings in the BIOS and nothing seems to work.

I've placed the drive into another computer and booted into the PC's normal drive and i can view all of the files on the suspect drive from windows and nothing looks out of the norm, its clearly working perfectly fine, this leads me to believe the boot sectors are corrupted, I'm at a loss of what to do here, so anyone that can help this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  • Ram upgrade, could I get better for my money.?

I've been having pc issues and found a defective ram stick,I've decided to upgrade, I'm thinking about this http://www.ebuyer.com/274404-corsair-16gb-ddr3-133...

I'm heading for 16gb but is there anything better that I could get for around £100? My boards stats state it's running apeeds 1333Mhz so I'm sticking to that. Any help or suggestions would be great thanks. Motherboard details to follow.

  • Pc gets to windows logo the reboots?

I've been having pc issues, I've just recently been receiving a dsq fault message stating that the dram had been downgraded, reading up on this several suggestions stated that the ram used is too high of a spec for the motherboard, not possible in my case, as the board could and ram was bought ad a package deal ready built from a reputable company. Others state about the bios batter being faulty or out charge, yet in the bus date and time settings are correct. I've now been getting a startup error showing no keyboard or mouse found I think this is because of my optimized defaults I've loaded, the motherboard is a Foxconn a88gmx as far as I can tell. The ram should be running at 1066 but it's clearly not, I can't get into windows to run a memtest either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated if possible.

  • Sony Vaio VGC-LA1 upgrade?

    http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/VGC-LA1/s...

A friend wants to upgrade this all in one unit, I've explained that it's a mobile part he'll need to upgrade this.

Hes adamant that he wants a CPU upgrade at least, what can i expect to be able to put into this to upgrade it for him? I've checked the specs and found other CPU's the only other thing i can find would be a T7600 intel CPU 2.3ghz.

Would this work? is there anything else?
