  • Tonsillitis of unknown cause, when will symptoms go away?

I went to the doctor Saturday night and was tested for strep, which was negative. I was prescribed amoxicillin due to the fact that my tonsils clearly have an infection of white and yellow patches. In the 60hrs of antibiotics I've been on, it's hardly improved. There isn't pain, but my tonsils are still very swollen and I practically gag when talking. The white and yellow patches are still there too, although there's less redness. Should I go back in to a doctor?

FYI this throat issue was my only symptom. No fever or other cold/flu like symptoms.

  • Register car in Virginia for school?

I plan on taking my car out from Washington state to Virginia this summer for school. I would like to maintain my Washington state residency so that I can keep my hunting license and things there. I have a house in Arlington, Virginia to stay at, which has a garage (and I plan to use). Now, I'll be a full-time student while out there, so do I legally have to do any of the following:

    a.) Get a Virginia DL?

b.) Register my car in Virginia?

c.) Pay any local taxes for Arlington or the state of Virginia?

    Thanks

  • Time from Recruiter to Army Basic for aviation?

I'm tossing around the idea of going in the army for aviation. I'm a college graduate too. If I went in as an aviation warrant officer contract, how long from the time I talk to a recruiter before I would actually go to basic? And does anyone know the current wait for basic?

  • Marine OCS Fitness (Afterwards)?

I'm 21, graduated from college in June when I was still 20. I feel stuck in a rut and want to do something that matters. I spent 2 years in Air Force ROTC in college, went to their 4wk ROTC OTS, passed, but left after graduating it because they wanted me to stay in college longer than I had to while paying for it all myself. Recently I've tossed around the idea of USMC OCS. One of my main worries is that I'll be weaker than I am now after going in, which sounds stupid but my strength-to-weight ratio is awesome. I weigh 175lbs, 6'3", run 7 miles straight weekly, have a 500lb dead lift, an upper 300lb squat, a 300lb front squat etc, can dunk like a maniac etc. And... I don't wanna lose any of that. Does anyone know about being stronger/weaker etc after something like this?

-After just a month at USAF ROTC FT/OTS I lost SO much strength and just became a skinny runner-type which I thought was horrible...

ALSO, I would wanna go to OCS really soon, what's the wait on this type of thing? I'm working on joining the Border Agency, but they take FOREVER!...

  • FFL Application Process & Fee?

I'm looking into getting an FFL as a dealer to buy/sell guns on the side of my usual job. First, since I know most applications are denied, if my application is denied will I still get my money refunded? Or do you pay once the ATF says your stuff checks out?

    Also, it is $200 right?

Can you do this out of your house?

  • 1st Longbow, Advice on Type/Size?

I'm looking into getting a longbow, but don't know much about archery. Any ideas of what kind to get? Since the bow size matters, I'll say that I'm 6'3" and strong...

    Thanks

    Thanks, just wondering.

  • Handgun In NJ Airport Luggage?

I have 2 handguns I need to transport from NJ or Oregon, and plan on taking them in my checked luggage. How do I get the guns to the airport to do this? Do I need a special license just to transport them?

Anything else I need to know?

I'm an Oregon resident by the way.

    Thanks.

  • Messy Small Claims Case?

I got 1 of my 4 roommates evicted for illegal pets. The other 4 of us are suing her for unpaid rent, utilities, that she failed to pay while living with us. She filed a counterclaim saying that I "threatened to kill her if her dog pooped on the floor again" and claimed 2 of the other roommates as witnesses, she told the cops that, they talked to the other 2 who correctly said "that [I] I never did such a thing." The cops let it go.

Question, in court does she have any legal grounds against me? The other 2 "witnesses" will be there to under oath, state that I didn't threaten her.

Sorry, just a little uncomfortable seeing she's trying to sue me for $1800 for distress, new apartment, storage, etc.

    THANKS!

*** To fix the order here, she moved out without notice on March 1st. Cops called me on 3/16 about the "incident" and she said that I threatened her on Feb 19th with a shotgun and my roommates present there. Did I have a shotgun, yes, unloaded and I was showing it to them because I JUST bought it that weekend. And she had the date wrong, it was Feb 5th, night of Super Bowl Sunday. (I remember that because my team, GIANTS won lol)

Ask yourself: if I did such a thing and she was in so much fear? Why would she wait 4 weeks to move out, and 6 weeks to report it?

  • I Want To Learn Languages?

I'm finishing up college now and want to learn languages and get fluent in several. I know Spanish well, and am working on my first year of Russian classes. Upon graduation (with a Psychology degree) what are some ways that I can learn languages as my primary focus (i.e. not as a side thing)? Are there jobs/agencies/companies that will pay me? Are there any graduate programs where your job is to simply learn languages and achieve proficiency?

    Thanks!

  • Graduate Programs For To Learn Languages?

I'm graduating Oregon State University with a BS in Psychology at the age of 20 here in a few weeks. I've learned throughout High School and College that I'm quite good at picking up language. I took 4 years of Spanish in HS, found it easy and I'm finishing up a year of Russian currently, also not so difficult. I really enjoy learning them and want to get some kind of graduate program where I am taught multiple languages, where that is MY MAIN focus, ideally with opportunity to travel (study abroad). I have very militaristic interests (love guns, adventure, politics, intelligence etc.) but don't want to be in the military (did AFROTC for 2 years) and ultimately would like to get into some kind of "3-letter" government agency where my linguistic skills could be used in the field.

I have a place to stay in the DC area, so I'd like to move over there. But if anyone knows of programs like this anywhere, what they're called, etc. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW! Thanks.

  • Dating Girl That I Work With?

I'm in college and I work (about 20 of us) at a place on campus, there's this girl there who's very cool, we get along quite well and agree on almost everything, which is odd for someone like me who's so crazily opinionated on so much (How often do I find a Libertarian girl lol). I'd ask her out but I think it'd be weird if it didn't work out or something or if she said no because we work together. I don't feel like I "like" her, but just wanna date and see what the hell happens. What should I do? How can I show interest, not get friendzoned etc?

  • Meeting Girls In College?

It's my last term of college, graduating before I turn 21. I don't drink, so meeting girls at parties is kind of a waste (plus I'm not a fan of drunks). I want a good, fit girl (just not like 5' or fat), I'm in great shape (6'3" 175lbs lb4lb lifter), tall, very athletic, my dating site profile gets comments on me being "cute" and compliments about my attitude. I'm not boring at all, make girls laugh, very opinionated, know a ton about a lot, very active, I do get random smiles from girls when at the store and gym (girls usually have ipods at gym and I don't wanna be another one of those tools who creep on ladies) ambitious and I know it shows. I know I'm worth it in all aspects, I just don't know where to meet girls at school. My classes are either way too big and full of freshmen, or way too small and full of grad students... so yeah... that's my issue.

Ideas? My college has about 25,000 people, there has to be SOMEONE here worth getting in a relationship right? Feels like it's been a waste so far.

  • Washington DC Police Academy?

Just curious what kind of academy the metro police in DC have. Is it the kind where you're stuck living at the academy? Or the kind where it's a daily commute like a day-job?
