I've had him for a little more than a year, and he's about 2 years old. First, he lived in a 1 gallon bowl, but then i moved him to a large Kritter Keeper with a heater a couple of months later. He went into shock, after that, but then after a couple of days he became his normal self again, swimming around and following my finger. But now (about 6 months later) all he does is hide behind his plants. He won't even eat :( I give him weekly water changes.. But he won't come out. It's been about 2 weeks now without food, and you think he'd be dead. Is my betta sick or old, or is he starting to die? Thanks for your help.

So, last year in science class the girl i sat by had wrote some lyrics from a paramore song. Then she proceeded to doodle around it and make it pretty (she's the artsy type :) so i said, "Oh, i've heard of Paramore, but i've never listened to them. Are they a good band?" and she said, "Yeah, they're really good; you should listen to them." So, i thought, hmmm.. and so this summer, when i had nothing to do, i decided to watch a paramore music video on youtube (the song was ignorance) and i thought, ooh! i like this! but then i found out it was an emo band, and i don't want ppl to think i'm emo! my fave color is blue! and my hair is black, but it's natural cuz i'm indian! :( help! please. I'm going to be a freshman next year. I have played the flute since 3rd grade and i really want to do marching band. I have already tried out, and I made it. My parents don't really have any musical background and they don't realize how important it is to me. They want me to do Spell Bowl instead. (that's a written spelling competition, where you are on teams and each person goes up individually to spell 8 words from our list, schools compete) I told my parents that I want to try out marching band for my freshman year, and if i don't like it, i will do spell bowl sophomore year. I can't do both of them, because they conflict, and i will be very busy since I am taking honors english, algebra 2 honors, and honors biology. My mom says that it's my decision to decide between m. band and spell bowl, but my dad would rather i do spell bowl. He doesn't understand the importance of marching band, and he thinks it will take too much time. My private lesson teacher is in favor of me doing marching band, and she says that my parents don't realize my potential. I really want to try marching band. :( how can i convince my parents of its extracurricular goodness and how i will benefit from it? :(

I recently got a horse from Mirabelle, and when i was feeding it, i guess i pressed a random button by accident and my horse, Misty, ended up outside.Does anyone know how to get it back inside?

I had my betta in a 1 gal bowl for about three months. i wanted to get him a better home, so i moved him to a cycled small tank. i thought he might move around more and be healthier, but ever since i moved him there, he has been slow and sluggish. i moved him there yesterday and he is still tired. he wont eat anything and he will either stay behind the plants or stay just below the surface. sometimes i think he's dead, but i can see his gills moving in and out. How long will it take for him to adjust? im worried. thnx in advance.

I'm planning to move my betta to a 5 gallon tank when it gets a little cooler, and as soon as he gets settled in, i want to add an African dwarf frog. (im not talking about the african clawed frog). Well, i heard somewhere on yahoo answers that crowntail bettas are more aggressive than regular bettas, but my betta is very calm and docile, and he doesn't jump at feeding time (if that means anything, im not sure if it does). But do you think they would make good tank mates as long as i have places for the ADF to hide and they both got their own share of food? If you don't think this would work, plz reccommend some other kind of fish that would have enough room with a betta in a 5 gal tank. Thanks! :)

so, i am planning to move my blue crowntail betta, Bubbles, from his bowl, to a better home-a 5 gallon tank from petco! :) But i am wondering.. should i get a mini heater for a 5 gallon tank, or a regular heater? also, im not sure whether to get a filter or not, because i heard that bettas don't like currents, and i'm worried that he might get his fins stuck :( So what should i do? Thanks in advance for everyone's help.

I usually feed my betta 1-2 wardley betta pellets at least 2 times a day.

On this one website, it says that a betta's stomach is as big as its eye. Could my betta be constipated? Should i feed it less?

I have been taking swimming classes, but i just can't swim. :(

One day, after my YMCA class (this was maybe about 3 years ago)

I had a dream that i had a private lesson for swimming and i was treading water all by myself. Then, a couple of weeks ago, during the night of one of my little sisters' swimming classes, i had a dream that i was swimming at the local high school pool (that's where the classes were) and there were lots of vines and it somehow resembled a river. I think this is because my dad taught himself how to swim in a river in India. Then, a couple of days later, I had a dream that I was in a swimming class in the deep end (maybe 12 ft deep) with some of my classmates from last year. For some reason, i was a slower swimmer than everyone else. Does anyone know what these dreams might mean?

I have a turquoise crowntail male betta from petco named Bubbles that i got maybe 5 weeks ago. My dad wasn't very keen on getting a tank w/a filter, so, my book said it would do fine in a 1 gallon bowl. There are two Amazon swordtail plants, some gravel, and a nice little betta tower. (I also planted some Betta Bulbs, but they don't seem to be growing, if anyone knows why, plz answer) It has dechlorinated water and a remove 50% of the water and add clean water once every week. He seems to be active and whenever he sees me, is looks like he is following me. Is this an okay home for my betta? I was thinking, maybe in the fall, i could get maybe a 3-4 gallon tank for him w/ out a filter as long as i clean it once every week. I'm not sure if it needs a heater as the water is usually room temp. (70-80 degrees) And if i do get a tank, could anyone recommend me any good plants to put in the tank that aren't too expensive? I have my dad's old computer (I think it's called a windows xp?), and i would really like some new wallpaper. Preferably aquarium wallpaper. But all of the ones that you can download, it seems that you have to have a Windows Vista. Could someone answer back with a link to a good website with aquarium wallpaper? Thnx in advance!

My grandma has a tank at her house (about medium sized, i think) and yesterday morning her fish jumped out. :( Now she knows to put a cover on the tank ): I was thinking maybe i could introduce maybe two platys, and later 5-6 neon tetras. But should I introduce the tetras first, and wait for the platys, or should i introduce the platys and the tetras 3 at a time?

I know that they need a lot of plants. I don't want to the fish to get new tank syndrome. So how many fish do i introduce at once? And if you think my tank wouldn't hold the tetras and the platies, then what fish would you recommend for a medium sized tank? Thnx in advance :-)

So I just got my very own betta fish from Petco last Friday.

He's turquoise with red fins, and he's the sweetest little fish. I named him Bubbles. My little sister also got a betta. A small turquoise female, that she named Miss Inquisitive because it was so curious when it saw its new surroundings. (Hey, she's only 7!)

I noticed that Bubbles was making a lot of bubbles on the top of his bowl. I found out that it was called a bubble nest. On this one website it said that bettas make bubbles when they are happy. But in my Betta book by Robert Goldstein, it says that males make nests when they are next to females in a different bowl. Miss Inquisitive is making horizontal lines of bubbles. The book says that means that she isn't ready to mate. Should I seperate the bowls? Who should i believe?

Robert Goldstein has a Ph.D! This isn't like a life threatening decision for my betta, I'm just curious. I just want to take good care of Bubbles!

I love my lil sis but she can get really worked up sometimes. If i tell her something that she can do better she gets very upset and if you try to make her feel better it gets worse. She's 7 years old. Is this normal? Should I just leave her alone? I'm 13. Am I being a bad sister?

OK, so i am in middle school and I am going to 8th grade. There has been this guy that I have known since I was about 3. I realized that he liked me when my bff told me that he asked when my b-day was and smiled at me a bunch of times in class. but then he went out w/someone. I was crushed, but then they broke up. I always have this tingly feeling around him. I don't want to go out w/him (im only in 8th grade), but its been almost 1 year that i've had a crush on him. He's funny and smart a sweet and short (like me :) but I know that i'm obsessed. Should I give up??
