  • College and Career Advice, NY vs CA?

I'm interested in filmmaking, and would love to pursue it as a career. I live in Ohio and plan on attending a filmschool here, but after I graduate I'd like to move somewhere that can give me a chance of finding a career. The obvious options are California and New York, yet the prices are ridiculous and simply moving to a big state like that won't guarentee me anything.

I would be very grateful for advice on where I should go after college. I know I am just one in thousands, and that filmmaking is nearly impossible to break in to. However this has always been my dream, and I'll regret it the rest of my life if I just give up.

  • Name of Looney Tunes cartoon?

Its an older episode, in color. I remember Porky Pig was out in the jungle and looking to somehow trap these little creatures. He had candy cane pieces to draw them out, but when he threw a little loop of string he accidentally caught a lion with big claws that I believe was sleeping. Does this sound familiar? I have been trying to find the name of the episode but I can't.

  • How to convince parents to let my dye hair?

I am sixteen and have a sort of muddy brown and golden colored hair, which Id like to dye a normal shade of blonde. My parents are pretty cool with everything- they're fine with a nose ring and a tatoo!- but when it comes to dying my hair they're dead against it.

They're reasons are that it will change my hair... and yet they've let me have highlights, which changed my hair. They also believe its about "making yourself different for other people", which is silly because I truly want it for just myself and don't bother with worrying about popularity and "changing myself", so its slightly offensive they think that low of me. Also buying a box of dye is much cheaper than the hundred bucks that go towards highlights, as I have a close friend who is Asian and her mom is excellent with dying hair.

I've explained all of this to them, but they're still against it. They've said that if I come home with dyed hair they'll ground me, but I don't really care. So I've thought about just going ahead and doing it. But what are other ways I can try to convince them?

  • Never had a serious relationship?

Christmas time is coming, and while its one of the best holidays, its also the worst holiday to be single. I'm sixteen and I know there's like a gazillion other people out there who ask the same question. But it bothers me sometimes when I think too much. I've had a boyfriend before and a few guys I fooled around with, but nothing remotely serious.

I see relationships everywhere at school and most of my friends either have a boyfriend or have a boy they're talking to. Usually I don't mind because I've always been the late bloomer. But I want a guy to talk to, hold hands with, and cuddle next to on this cold holiday. It just seems like that's all a far fetched fantasy and I'll be the one who is always a bridesmaid, never the bride.

  • Whats this body language mean?

There's this guy I've been talking to who, today in class, we were doing a lab and sitting side by side when our legs pressed together. I didn't think I liked him but for some reason his leg pressing against mine felt sorta like a secret we shared under the table. We stayed like that for about five minutes, and we only separated because I had to get up.

When I sat back down his foot kinda brushed by mine, and the whole time he was leaned over talking to me. Was it all an accident or does he sorta like me? Lol boy body language is hard to read.

  • Popular girl falls for the unpopular guy?

There's hundreds of movies and books about the popular guy sweeping the unpopular girl off her feet. And while there's still stories out there about the popular girl falling for the unpopular guy, its not as common. Why do you think that is? And would you be interested in reading or watching this twist on the classic high school story?

  • I wish I was a pretty girl. Advice?

I'm just going to be completely honest with you. I know being unique is what counts, and that everyone is beautiful in their own way. I'm a confident, happy person and I try to see beauty in my flaws. But I am not a "pretty girl", if that makes sense. Nothing about my facial features evokes prettiness. I'm not a smoky eyed, striking brunette or a heart faced ocean blonde. Sometimes I wish I could be considered pretty. I want to be the size 2 girl with silky, straight, coffee brown hair and a pretty face with black leggings, a white Northface and cute Uggs. That cute, preppy girl you see everywhere who can pull her hair into a messy bun and still be pretty. Alright I know I'm rambling but yeah. Sometimes it gets to me. I'm a stocky, pale girl with wild curls and no rich or petite qualities. Maybe I'm a silly, ungrateful child for thinking these things. But deep down, we all want to be pretty, both inside and out.

  • How to make my hair shiny and silky?

My hair is course and often frizzy due to my curly hair, which makes me look like an ugly little kid. What kinds of shampoos, conditioners, or sprays can I use to soften my hair and make it shiny and pretty all the time, and not just on good hair days?

  • How to have a soft, flawless appearance?

My skin used to break out a lot but recently has calmed down and smoothed out unless I get random blemishes every once in awhile. I really don't wear make up, powder wise, but by the end of the day my face looks blotchy and uneven. What kind of make up do you suggest I use to even out my face?

  • Do animals see things we cannot?

My house is almost 100 years old, and for a long time was owned by a lonely old man who committed suicide in the basement. We know this because the neighbors found him, and have told us stories from his happier days. My family and I know that there is a ghost in the house, because strange and sometimes disturbing things have happened that I'd rather not get into here. At the same time, we're fine with it because in the eleven years of living here no one has ever gotten hurt or too freaked out.

My question is, while we only get glimpses of spirits, can animals see them all the time? We have three cats, and often they will sit and stare at random places. Once my cat crouched down and growled at the corner of my room, refusing to leave her spot. Other times they get freaked and run out. Just a few minutes ago, my cat sat and gazed at my ceiling, following something with her eyes.

So is she probably seeing things I can't? It kinda scares me late at night, when I'm falling asleep and I catch her at the foot of my bed, staring off in space. I dislike the idea of invisible things watching us at night, even though it probably happens and I'm better off not knowing when.

  • I need help deciding on a character name?

I am having difficulty finding a name for this character. She's about sixteen, has a shock of severed blue hair, and her entire body is covered in elegant tatoos and self infliicted scars. She had an abusive past and is now a criminal mastermind with a powerful imagination. I want unusual names, like The Pale or Her or Birdie. Anything that sounds like something she adopted after shedding her true identity. Thanks a lot (:

  • What should I be when Im older?

I'm extremely imaginative, and I have a love for movies. I imagine life as scenes from a movie, and even make pretend interviews and blooper reels. I see and create characters and different worlds, and in my head I can create videos to music. I love taking photographs, writing stories, and drawing characters. I feel like I see the world from a different way than other teens. Can these traits pinpoint me to a certain career? Thanks!

  • Is my scale wrong? Please help?

My scale says I'm 180 pounds, which is borderline obese since I'm 5 ft 4. This makes no sense, however. I don't look 180. There's a girl I know who is way taller and heavier than me, yet her license says she weighs less than me. I work out every day and eat healthy. Soo... am I obese or is the scale off?

  • Signs that a guy is interested?

There's this guy in my one class who I think may like me. He's really friendly and always laughs at my jokes. He's called me pretty a lot, which is sweet. He always seems to hover around me and today, asked me who I'm bringing to homecoming. At the same time I could be wrong. Who knows, I don't read minds haha.
