Wild about My Dogs
I'm happiest when I'm single Baby Briella is finally here! This little girl has lit up my life in more ways than one. Her smile makes me smile. That's a lot for a person who didn't like kids. I love my daughter and I will do anything for her I am also the proud parent of an American Pit Bull Terrier named Symphony, a Yorkshire Terrier named Melody and a Pomeranian named Bentley. Don't Shop. Adopt. There are way too many wonderful dogs in shelters today for people to keep breeding more. I have no respect for backyard breeders and owners of "designer dogs". I feel that they have contributed to so many of the loveable dogs in shelters.
Will The Real Domino Please stand up?
Woman you done it now!!!! You now have a little troll after you. Congratulations on your new clone.
Well anyway the level 1 user parading around asking how to kill things with "pittbulls" is not the real Domino. All regulars will know that but to those people taking that stuff seriously. Ignore and report
Legit: My Yorkshire Terrier just turned 5 years old on thanksgiving and she isn't showing signs of aging but my Pom is 3-4 and he is already getting grey. When is the average age that a Yorkie will begin to show signs of aging?
6 AnswersDogs9 years agoIn your opinion is this dog a "True APBT"?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=rcYy8c_giKc&fe...
The dog is as quick as a whip and the girl obviously put a lot of work into it. But is it a "true" Pit Bull. I have a Pit Bull and she looks nothing like that. She is slimmer but she is also 2 years old, not 6 mos
9 AnswersDogs9 years agoI found the link. why would anyone want to rehabilitate a dog like this?
If you have been watching Nat Geo Wild lately then you have seen the Dog Whisperer Preview with the Labrador that literally attacked Cesar. The owner has said that the dog has bitten her, and her husband. Why would you keep a dog like that? I could not keep a dog that attacked me
On top of that there is a BABY in the picture, either there or on the way. This dog is not safe around babies.
15 AnswersDogs9 years ago4 month old says something similar to "mama" when she sees me. Is it normal at this age?
My daughter is 4 1/2 months old now. When she wants something instead of wailing all the time she looks up and makes a noise that sounds like "mamamamama". At first I was excited for it but I am wondering if she is too young to be making word-like sounds. When did your children start saying mama or dadda

10 AnswersDogs9 years agoUpdate: About me not letting the autistic girl near my baby and her mother's slandering of my name?
Here is the repost to my last question:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Arz1z...
Here is the problem again for those of you who didn't read that.
I have a 4 month old daughter and a coworker/ex-friend of mine has a 10 year old daughter with autism. Her daughter throws crazy fits that include biting, kicking, screaming, punching and hitting people and animals. A couple of weeks ago after the child threw a fit in the middle of the street and grabbed my baby's stroller by the side and fell to the ground kicking and screaming I told the child's mother that I do not want her child near my baby because she is dangerous (which she is).
The mother then took to the internet on sites such as facebook, cafemom, yahoogroups and others and is telling people that I said that I hate her child because she is autistic and I am discriminating against her handicap. She has also spread rumors about me at work and has given my number and email out to other parents of handicapped children, all of which have been calling me and harrassing me. They are calling me the devil and a b*tch and telling me that they hope my child develops a serious handicap so I can know how it feels.
Well anyway: This morning I went in to work and I noticed a flier hanging outside on a pole with my face on it. It said "IF YOU'RE HANDICAPPED THEN I HATE YOU" in big bold letters and left my phone number and email on the bottom. I just couldn't cope so I went home. I used to be able to vent about my issues on different parenting sites but because me and that woman were a part of the same online communities I have been outcast. I have even been banned from Cafemom because I was apparently spreading hate. I even went so far as to permanently deleting my Facebook. So here I am on Yahoo!Answers. The only site that I haven't noticed her snooping around on. I really don't want to fight her and I am trying my best to stay civil and not press charges but this is getting out of hand. Even if I do press charges against her it will never rebuild my reputation. I have thought of deleting my email and changing my phone number but I run a side business from home and I use the phone number and email that she gave out to conduct business and changing things may make me loose customers.
I just want to know what I should do to keep it civil and rebuild my reputation. If anyone out there has some advice then please share it. Please keep your hate to yourself.
13 AnswersParenting9 years agoWhen is the first time that you realized that your dog trusts you?
For me is when I got my fearful Yorkie to fully roll over and show me her belly. Someone told me that it is a symbol of trust and submission. With my Pomeranian it was when I took him to the vet and for the first time he didn't go nuts. He just relaxed and let me pet him and comfort him. My Pit Bull was a whole different story. I knew I had her complete trust and loyalty when she chose me over her owner. When my ex decided to leave he tried to call her and instead of following him she hid behind me and bared her teeth as if saying "I'm not leaving my mom or going nowhere with you". So he left her.
How about you guys? When did you realize that you had your dog's complete trust?
BQ: When did you realize that you could trust your dog fully?
3 AnswersDogs9 years agoAm I wrong for not wanting a child with a mental problem around my baby?
She has one of those behavioral mental diseases. The one like ADHD but isn't. I am so sorry I forget the name. Anyway she has absolutely no attention span and she often throws dangerous tantrums that include throwing things and biting and hitting people, I had to break the news to my friend that I don't want her daughter (10) around mine(4 months old). Of course my friend, or should I say ex-friend, got really mad and told me I was discriminating against her child because she is disabled. She bashed me on a parenting site that we are both a part of and bashed me on Facebook. She is even trying to group other parents of disabled children against me. I get various text messages and calls every day from fathers and mothers calling me the devil and an evil b*tch. We work together and she has went around telling people that I hate kids with disabilities so now I am being looked down on. I wasn't trying to discriminate but of course her disability is what makes her like this. I am not big on other people's children period but this one especially is a danger to my own daughter and I don't want my baby around her. I am just trying to protect my baby. Now I am public enemy #1.
Am I so terrible for this? How can I just make this stop? This has been going on for weeks but it finally peaked today when she confronted me outside my car while I was trying to leave work. I don't want it to come to blows with this woman.
15 AnswersParenting9 years agoCan I take some action against a babysitter for this.?
I have a 3 month old daughter and a sittercity account.
My account and the job desription clearly states that I have dogs and lists the types of dogs I have and describes what I want in a sitter. I listed that I wanted someone to take care of my baby from 9-5 while I work today because my mother can not do it. I posted the job 4 days ago and a girl/woman named Stephanie (a featured sitter) replied to my job offer. She seemed the most qualified and she explained that she loves dogs too so I hired her. I told her to be at my house at 8. She did not show up until 8:45 making it impossible for me to leave to be at work on time. I invited her in and showed her my daughter and gave her the tour and told her exactly what to do. Then I showed her my dogs (remember she said she loves dogs and I only hired her so it wouldn't be an issue where I had to lock them away for 8 hours) and she flipped out at the sight of my APBT. She accused me of not telling her I had a Pit Bull when it was in the Job Description and on my profile. My picture is of me, my baby and my 3 dogs. She told me she could not work here, handed me my baby and left. Just like that. She just left. Now I am sitting here missing a day of work and a day of income because of her. Is there a way I can do something about this. Like report her to sittercity or even take her to court for my lost wages? Please help.

6 AnswersDogs9 years agoMy Pit Bull had a run in with a huge Rottweiler earlier this week? Read on?
I was walking my 3 dogs today. I have a Pomeranian, a Yorkie and a Pit Bull. We were walking down the street and a huge rottweiler or rottie mix came charging out of its yard at us. My first reaction was to scoop up my smaller dogs and use my body to block the dog from my pit. It came really close so I kicked at it and screamed. It bit my ankle (I was wearing flip flops).Actually it wasn't a full bite, more like its teeth scraped my ankle. I ended up dropping my dogs out of pain and when I did that my Pit got loose and the Rot got to her. She fought back and landed a few bites on the Rots mouth and managed to rip its ear a little but that is it. My Pit had a little superficial bite on her nose that the vet treated with a green ointment.
Now today when I was walking my dogs again a guy came out of that same house and told me that I better pay up for his dog's stitches. He was kind of wild and belligerent and would not let me explain myself and even called the police on me but I walked away before they got there. He was talking about getting my dog put down an all that BS. I know he doesn't have a legal leg to stand on because his dog attacked and bit me and I was the one getting shots for rabies not him.
My Question is. Why do people get violent angry with people when THEY are the ones in the wrong? Especially when it comes to dogs. Like this guy. He KNEW his dog was out and attacked people but instead of being sweet so I don't press charges on him, he rather fight me. What is wrong with some dog owners
9 AnswersDogs9 years agoPet dog protectiveness test. Have any of you guys tried this?
I was at work and I heard someone talk about a way to gauge how protective your dog is. It reminded me of something a user has said on here.
Step one: Take your dog out for a walk
Step 2: Have someone your dog does not know approach you, hopefully wearing protective clothing
Step 3: Have the person act threatening towards you and maybe even push or touch you
Then just watch your dog's reaction
I tried this with a work pal and my dog Symphony (an American Pit Bull Terrier)
She barked and growled and even lunged but once he came closer and pretended to swing at her she backed down.
So has anyone else tried this or something similar? If so how did it work out?
If you have not tried it would you?
7 AnswersDogs9 years agoWithout the backyard breeders, "designer" mutt owners, idiots, trolls etc. Where would the DS be?
If all the questions from backyard breeders, trolls, idiots who fail to provide medical care to sick dogs, "designer" mutt owners who think their mutts are real breeds, and people wanting guard dogs just stopped where would the Dog Section be? I bet it would be really bland and empty over here because those are the only questions that get asked and answered here.
Could you imagine a DS without those things? What do you think would go on here?
7 AnswersDogs9 years agoAre YOU a backyard breeder?
I recently visited this very old question. I just reworded the title.
Are *YOU* a PUPPYMILL WANNABE???
Do you want to breed(NOT spelled BREAD,btw) your mutt/mongrel "cuz she's *SO* KEEE-UTE & you 'WUV' her"?
Do you think that your "full-blooded" (NO SUCH THING!)animal is AUTOMATICALLY worthy of breeding from ?
Do you imagine that you can properly care for however many pups FOREVER-at minimum 10 weeks?
Do you think dogs have "periods" & are clueless enough to ask faceless( & possibly brainless ) strangers in cyberspace when to BREAD them in that "period"?
Are you prepared for emergency surgery at 3 am to save the bitc-h & pups ...at HUGE COST?
Would you have a clue(w/out asking the faceless & brainless cyberspace idiots) what *IS* an emergency?
Can you KILL defective pups? RECOGNIZE them? Tube feed a litter of orphans-every 2 hrs.for WEEKS? Know about docking & dewclaws & vaccines & weaning & worming schedules?ETC.?
If ANY of these basic questions baffle you....make you uncomfortable....you ARE just a puppymill wannabe.
One litter or a thousand....no difference.

4 AnswersDogs9 years agoIf you are friends with someone on this site why do people think that you are the same person?
I am friends with this girl. Her name on here is Domino (TC: dogs). We email and chat all the time. I am even in her yahoo group and have met her in person. Sometimes we have little disagreements so I ask on here who is right since we are both members. Its usually about pets and stuff. So now people are starting to think we are the same person. Its annoying because people are starting not to take my questions seriously. That is even more agitating when I ask a question that I actually need help on something and people accuse me and her of being "trolls" and don't help. I know I am not a troll. I have better to do than that, I have a baby and a job and 3 dogs to take care of so trolling on the internet isn't in my itinerary for life.. I'm pretty sure she's not one either.
Sorry for the rant. Its just annoying that I can't get advice because I am openly friends with a person on this site.
The Q is on top. Feel free to answer
1 AnswerYahoo Answers9 years agoHow do your dogs react to children? ?
19 AnswersDogs9 years agoRunning with a stroller and 3 dogs ?
What is a good way to keep my dogs and me fit with my 3 week old daughter. I was thinking about running them and pushing the stroller. I tried but my Yorkie and Pom keep trying to run under the stroller. My Yorkie even bites at the wheels. How do other parents keep their dogs exercised with small babies? Its getting impossible. Any tips?
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoHow to stop my dogs from eating dirty diapers?
I recently had a baby girl and everyone knows that with babies comes diapers.
My dogs have devised a plan to get the diapers out of my swing top garbage cans.
Symphony who is a 55lb American Pit Bull Terrier will tip it over
Melody who is a 9lb Yorkshire Terrier will Stand on top of the tipped trash and work the top off
Then Bentley a 6lb Pomeranian will dive in and pull out the diaper. Then they will all join in a diaper shredding party. Poop and pee gets everywhere.
14 AnswersDogs9 years agoI just had a baby girl 3 weeks ago and it changed my dog's behavior?
My Yorkshire Terrier went from being an aggressive dog to being totally mellow. All the animals in my house are completely calm. My Pit Bull is the best out of my 3 and she gives just the right amount of space to me while still watching carefully over me and the baby. When Angelica cries Symphony (the pit) is the 1st one to walk up to me and nudge me to tell me. Its been so peaceful (aside from the constant diaper changes and crying).
Is it normal for dogs to completely change around a newborn?
2 AnswersDogs9 years agoHow do all the DS high levelers feel about the new restrictions?
I'm not a high leveler but now I feel like I have nothing to strive for on this site.
I have moved on to the following
answerbag.com
dogster.com
Anyway how does it feel knowing that the stupid trolls have taken away your freedoms on this site?
BQ: Is it normal for a APBT only to react to other APBTs? My pit is great with small dogs and some larger dogs but as of late she has been a total jerk towards other pits and pit mixes.
