So my coworker instead of using email or phone message, sends me a request for sharing a client contact details through viber (an instant message application), is this acceptable and professional?

So y coworker instead of using email or phone message, sends me a request for sharing a client contact details through viber (an instant message application), is this acceptable and professional? I really find unprofessional and therefore didn't answer it, and now weeks later he sends me a reminder on viber again!!!! How should I act with him? By the way, he is a very manipulative coworker.

I met this guy at an office, and when he finished my paper work, we realized we both speak a particular language. So at the end, he said to me " because you speak this language, I give you this." He gave me his business card.

I told he I dont carry my business card with me. He said to me " no problem, when you write an email to me."

So after three days, I wrote him a short email saying it was a pleasure to have met him and hope to stay in touch. One week passed, I have not heard from him.

Then why he gave me his email address at the first place?

He then said, no I take that back, you are clear, what does that mean?

I said, "we will have to reason this for the public, reasoning is important. Explain why this happened, the causes, and what should be done in the future to correct the actions. We have to apologize and show ways to better the practice."

He said "Apologize?"

I said "Yes, because in this community/region, we have to have understanding to the nature of the people. There is a word of mouth. And we cannot hide things, and better for correcting actions."

What do you think of my answer?
