  • Anyone familiar with a 72mm Hoya filter?

I am looking to get a 72mm Hoya filter for my Canon 28-135 IS USM lens that I use on my Canon Rebel XT. Have you used one before, if so, what is your opinion on them? I am looking for an affordable filter, and don't want to spend over $100... this seems to be for me but want to get a users opinion of them first.

PS-- I have looked at both the standard and the Pro-1 and am leaning to the Pro-1

  • What's the best Circular Polarizing Filter?

I own a Canon Rebel XT, with a 24-135mm telephoto zoom lens. I am looking to buy a circular polarizing filter, and was told that ProMaster was the best brand to get, however when I look online, there are conflicting reviews. What's the best brand? I am looking at finding one under $100, so I obviously can't buy a B&W brand filter.

  • Problems with Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8GB?

My husband has a Creative Zen MicroPhoto 8 GB that he purchased last June. Out of no where it started giving him problems... the Zen freezes at the logo upon powering up. We tried to reformat it (at the suggestion of the Creative website), but after 24 hours of it saying "reformatting", we figured it was frozen also. There are no other options in the help menu, and I have contacted customer service, but they have yet to resond. Has anyone else had this type of problem, and if so, do you know how to fix it? Thanks!

  • How to file taxes with a corrected W-2?

My husband's income this year was misreported by his employer due to military differential pay. The outcome being that he has been issued a corrected W-2 and a 1099 for the military differential pay. Since we have not yet filed our taxes, do we file BOTH W-2's (the original and corrected) with the 1099, or disregard the first W-2 and just file the corrected W-2 and the 1099?

  • Is 1000 pixels equal to 10 MP?

I have to submit a photo that is 1000 pixels or higher. How do I do that if I shot the picture at 8.2 MP?

  • St. Martin?

Has anyone been there while on a cruise? If so, what is the best thing to do while you are there? We have heard that we can rent a taxi out for the entire day and have them take us wherever we want... we want to try and see both sides of the island... is that possible? Also, what is the best beach (besides Orient and Pinel Island) to visit as far as "breathtaking" views?

  • Does anyone have erythromelalgia?

If so, what were your initial symptoms? How did the doctor diagnose you? What have you done to help with the swelling and burning, and are there any side effects to the medications you are on?

  • Should I be worried with this room assignment?

We are cruising on the Carnival Valor later this year and booked an inside stateroom. On either side of our room are the quad rooms (the rooms with drop-down beds). Should we be worried about more noise since they are the quad rooms on BOTH sides? Should I try and get our room reservation changed?

  • Which lens for the Canon Rebel XT?

I am wanting to get a new lens for my Canon Rebel XT. I currently have the kit lens (18-55mm) and the 28-135 IS USM lens. I take mainly portrait shots, with landscape shots taken during vacation and sightseeing. The 2 lenses I have it narrowed down to are the following:

    1. Canon EF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 IS USM

    2. Canon EF 100mm F/2.8 USM Macro

I have already read all of the reviews, so I don't need answers as to what other lenses are out there or that there are better ones I could pick.... I know there are better lenses, but my budget can only afford ONE of these. Which one would you pick, why, and have you personally used this? If you have personally used either of these lenses, what are the pros/cons to them.

  • Has anyone else had a bad experience onYahoo groups?

I just recently joined a yahoo group and asked a question to the group members. WHat I received was not a warm welcome, but an email to the group about "responsibility" and how instead of always asking new members should read. Does anyone else think this is a bit harsh? I was HIGHLY offended by the comments in the response, so I have already unsubscribed to the group I just joined yesterday.

  • Does anyone else suffer from Dyshidrosis?

How do you keep it from swelling, running fever and severe itching? I am currently putting topical Vanos (a steroid cream) but it is not working and I am in a lot of pain due to the swelling. My doctor is out until Monday... any advice is MUCH appreciated!

  • Seasickness Meds?

I've been on 2 cruises before... the first one I didn't take anything and paid for it. The 2nd one I had the patch, but it gave me dry mouth, severe drowsyness (I was going to bed by 8:30 every night) and blurred vision. I have heard bonine and ginger are good alternatives. Has anyone used either or could anyone give me some good ideas on preventing sea sickness?

PS- We already booked the lowest level, midship interior room, so that point is covered.

  • Delta Airlines stability?

I booked flights through delta.com for November. Our trip insurance says that in the event of a bakruptcy where they discontinue flights it will not cover the loss. Is this a big possibility for happening?

  • Have you ever stayed at...?

Has anyone stayed at the Continental Downtown Bayside - Port of Miami Hotel? I have been looking for a cheap hotel to stay at before and after our cruise that is cheap but close to everything. Any other suggestions for a stay at Miami before and after a cruise?

  • Where to stay before a cruise in Miami?

We are cruising out of Miami in November. I haven't made reservations yet and am looking for the following:

    1. Cheap -- nothing over $120 per night, incl taxes.

    2. Free transportation to/from both Miami airport and the port of Miami

I don't really mind where I stay as long it is clean and not in a bad part of town.

  • Traveling around a military schedule?

My husband and I are planning on going on a cruise in November, approx. 3 weeks after he is SUPPOSED to get back from overseas on a deployment. The fear we have is that if his mission gets extended, and we are not able to go (which has happened to other units that are over there with his unit right now). We are weary of travel insurances, as they normally do not cover this. Does anyone know if Carnival will give us a credit for our cruise for us to go later on? Also, what about airlines (we will most likely fly Delta)? If we don't get refundable tickets, is there a way to turn them into a credit, kind of like Southwest does? I think we can just get a hold on a hotel room but not be obligated to pay unless we cancel less than 24 hours before we are supposed to stay. Anyone with any experience in this?

  • Need outside opinion on the Razorback situation?

I am a huge Arkansas Razorback Football fan, and I was just curious to see what everyone's take on the whole football situation that's going on right now (with Gus leaving for Tulsa and Mitch Mustain leaving for who know's where right now, but probably Tulsa). Do you think it has been detrimental to our program? I feel like it's a soap opera that's out of control!

  • Renewing my Passport with a new last name.. help!?

My passport will expire this summer and we are planning on traveling in November so I am trying to get a heads start on updating it. It is in my maiden name, so I have to change the name on teh passport. On the app. it says I have to send in my marriage license, which makes me nervous. Has anyone else done this? Is there a way around having to send in your ORIGINAL marriage license?

  • E. Carribean... Carnival Valor... Good/Bad?

My husband and I are thinking about going on the Eastern Carribean cruise in November on the Valor. Has anyone been on this cruise? Also, what are good excursions to do in Nassau, St. Thomas, & St. Martin. Also, should we book midship on the Upper deck, or Riviera (I tend to get easily sea sick, and we have sailed on the Riviera deck before on the Elation). Thanks!
