Bunny Lady
I am very active with dog rescue and am looking to hook-up with a cat rescuer to join our rescue operation. I am located in Suffolk County NY (Long Island). My best friend is my 2 year old Border Collie mix whom I spend every free minute I have with and Dixie is my foster girl whom I have been committed to rehabilitating for the last three months. She was extremely withdrawn and was taking in by two other rescue groups who felt she was hopeless. She is an Austrialian Shepherd mx, and is a very pretty girl and smart too. Helping these rescued dogs to heel and become whole again is my passion. I used to raise cockatails and rabbits. I am a single mom with two children who are teenagers and we love to go hiking and camping. We all love boating too, even the dog.

6 AnswersOther - Environment8 years agoUS Savings Bonds - paying the tax -United States?
My son has savings bonds which are earning about 4 % but the face value was only small amounts. He's unemployed, if he cashes in the bonds and did not earn any money for the year does he have to file income tax for the savings bonds. (If you earn under $5000 you normally don't have to file but I know if you win a lottery they make you file anyway). So my question is if he earned only the interest on the savings bonds for the year (only a few hundred dollars) does he have to file income tax

5 AnswersBuying & Selling10 years agoWhen a domestic partner of 10 years tells facebook friends we are only dating. Please tell me what you think.?
Tells me he loves me to death, but I find he's been sending emails to old high school girl friends signing miss you, love you. Am I just jealous or is this in-appropriate with someone who says he wants to grow old with you but doesn't want to marry you and won't tell you why. Tell me so I can hear the words, it's not sinking in that he doesn't love me.
16 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoMy dog was scared by someone and ran away, how do I find her?
My foster dog was making great progress with her fearful issues but someone entered our home that did not have permission to and she let her out. Instead of calling her back in, in a panic she screemed at her and ran after her and so did the neighbors, around the neighborhood and out of the area she is familiar with. (STUDPID PEOPLE). She's been spotted for 2 days just blocks from the house but I could not find her, she is not visible by the time I get there, she is hiding. With the 3th and 4th of July fireworks, there has been no sightings. I have alreay put up signs in the area and just outside the area, handed out flyers, put flyers in the local stores, contacted the shelters and local search groups for lost and found pets. I have even put her picture and information on Craig's List. I live in Suffolk County NY (Long Island), town of West Babylon. Dixie is a med size golden aussie/shepherd mix with no tail. lasme8@yahoo.com

What are your thoughts about the food companies making a grain free food brand now. There must be a demand for it for it if the brought it to market.

5 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade agoMy dog has been licking my dad's hands and does this all the time, has a great need to do this.?
I know dogs will lick wounds to heal them but my concern is that dad has diabetes so he takes insulin and other meds for heart condition. Want to know if my dog licking his hand is harmful to my dog? Can he be getting any insulin from his hands. Mesquetos don't bite dad because of the insulin. Dog is desperate to lick his hands. Dad has some aging of his skin also on his hands too.
6 AnswersDogs1 decade agoDid anyone hear about the Expected Puppy Mill Case in E. Northport LI (NY) ? What is your feelings?
This woman had something like 55 puppies in her house, the conditions of the dogs were horrible, they have giardia, their hair was matted and filty, the smell of urine could be detected fromm outside the home and the SPCA took these dogs into their care and started to adopt them into homes.
I found out recently that the decision from the court gave the woman a stay on some of her dogs, don't recall how many. They are in the shelter, taking up space, infecting other dogs with their disease and making the shelter fuller, which makes for some other dogs to die to make space. These dogs were not ordered by the court to be spayed or neutered which means if she does win in court she will get her dogs back to breed. She already had a previous violation too.
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoNeed foster homes in New York - Long Island?
If you are willing to open your home and give your love to a dog that would otherwise face sure death, please consider fostering for my rescue group located in Nassau County (border of suffolk). All expenses paid for. Just need your commitment to care for the dog until a permanet home can be found. Most of these guys need repair in some way or form. Some medically, some need behavior training (we have trainers staffed). We need you if you have the time to follow through on the training program provided and be consistant. Each dog has a very sad story to tell and you can save lives, won't you commit to being a foster. We need you! lasme8@yahoo.com
