  • Need dimensions of a star for my flag...I'm not good with math!?

I have to sew a flag for my history class project and I don't know the appropriate size the star should be in correspondence with the flag size. My flag is going to be 3x5'.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bonnieblue.svg

That is the flag and underneath it says:

"I used the following dimensions: r=star's radius, flag width=6r, flag height=4r"

I believe this is a easy math problem for those who know what they're doing but that isn't me!

I'm not totally sure of what that person considers the radius of the flag.

If you could help me with this, you'd make my life soo much easier!

    thanks!!

  • Possible neurological problem? PCS?

For about a year now (that I've noticed) I've been having migraines that come back almost every month and last for up to two weeks. They started up again about a week and a half ago. I'm use to them making me dizzy, light-headed at times before I faint, or make my head feel like it weighs a ton. Sometimes they get really bad and I will start seeing spots, black-out, and fall. Most of the time it is hours of dizziness and not being able to function normally. (They don't seem to have any correspondence to my menstrual cycle). This weekend, about 4 days or so into the migraines, I had what my doctor told me was a "vasovagal syncope" probably triggered by low blood sugar because I hadn't eaten much that day (or possibly by the migraine). That was my first vasovagal syncope. To say the least, it sucked. But I'm more concerned with these continual migraines. That doctor also told me the migraines could be "vestibular migraines." They never seem to go away for good. I've had a few blows to the head given that I was playing multiple sports. I am a freshman in college now but my junior year of high school I got 2 concussions within 3 days and a few months later got at least one more when I got kicked in the face playing soccer. I had at least one the year before that also. I never saw a doctor about any of the concussions. I'm worried I may have Post Concussion Syndrome. I haven't gone to see a neurologist because my mom doesn't believe anything is actually wrong.

If anyone has any advice on dealing with the migraines, or any medical information I should know, I'd appreciate it.

  • Physics vertical displacement & magnitude?

A superhero flies 135 m from the top of a tall building at an angle of 35degrees below the horizontal.

-What is the vertical component of the superhero's displacement?

I get the same answer over and over and I dont know why its wrong.

    also,

Two vectors of magnitudes 10.2 N and 31.1 N act as right angles to each other. What is the magnitude of their resultant?

  • Physics/Vertical displacement question?

A ball is dropped from rest at point O (height

unknown). After falling for some time, it

passes by a window of height 2 m and it does

so in 0.3 s. The ball accelerates all the way

down; let vA be its speed as it passes the

window’s top A and vB its speed as it passes

    the window’s bottom B.

How much did the ball speed up as it passed

    the window; i.e., calculate vdown = vB−vA ?

The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s2 .

    Answer in units of m/s.

    Help?!

    Thanks!
