  • Why is the Strasburg "decision" a big deal...?

...To anyone outside the Washington DC area? What I mean is, why are people so emotionally invested in a pitcher that's not even on their favorite team's roster? You come to DC and go to any bar in and around the city the fans of the team aren't even as worked up as people around the country. I've seen on a couple of forums now people blasting Mike Rizzo, Davey Johnson even Scott Boras for sticking to their word and doing what they said they were going to do last spring. Don't give me that "it's bad for baseball" BS either. Not only is that extremely corny, it's just not true. If you're a fan of another team wouldn't you be happy to have the guy that is ARGUABLY the best pitcher on one of the best teams in baseballs staff out of the rotation?

BQ: Do you think that the way the Nationals have handled Strasburg(seemingly keeping his long term success and career in mind) makes the Nationals an attractive destination for potential free agents? Do they put stock into things like this and their chances to win...or is it all about the cash money?

  • Earlier I was editing my profile and...?

So, this isn't a baseball question, but I don't answer in any sections besides here and football and the football section has more trolls in it that here. Plus, there's some people on here that I'm sure have experience with suspensions/terminations. So here goes:

When I went to save it a screen popped up saying that an error had occurred and my account had been deactivated. Not suspended, not terminated, but deactivated. I did not request this nor did I give anyone permission to do this. Now my name appears as a "?" and when I go to edit my account information it says that "error has occurred" and that isn't available. Is this a glitch? Or was my account terminated by Yahoo or is this a common glitch?

I have never had my account suspended for any reasons. What would entail Yahoo just terminating an account with 1) no notification, or 2) no prior offenses.
