There are probably enough anti-war Democrats out there to get Ron Paul elected in the 8 person field. Assuming the Democrats can figure out how to whip all their candidates in line into an anti-war stance - By eliminating the 7 pro-war Republicans, ending the war would be a foregone conclusion before any vote is cast in the general election next November. Furthermore, a Ron Paul win might send a message if the Democrats nominate somebody like Hillary, who has been wishy washy about her commitment to pull out the troops. Running against a pro-war Republican, Hillary or Obama can safely take a less committal stand on eliminating the war, because anti-war voters would not have a Republican alternative.
