  • FUN: Max yahoo points earned on first day?

    Imagine this:

A leprechaun comes up to you one day, plays a bit of hocus pocus, and PRESTO! You have unlimited answering skill, and unlimited resources, and become aware of Yahoo! Answers.

    Your mission:

To sign up to Yahoo! Answers, and get as many points as possible on your first day.

    You may:

Use your unlimited resources and unlimited answering skill

    Go without sleep

Interpret the problem so long as it is reasonable for an English speaker, e.g. a 'day' could be an arbitrary 24 hour period

    You may not:

Break the Yahoo! Answers rules, i.e. no multiple accounts, no hacking, etc.

Use a time machine or exploit time dilation

Attain unlimited answers per day by getting to level 5, instead the limit shall remain at 80 if it is possible to get to these higher levels

Receive arbitrary bonus points out of recognition from someone in charge, or in any way receive special bonus points

Ideally the best answer will be creative and detailed.

    GO!

  • As a good math/computer science student, what should I be looking into career-wise?

I'm a 19 year old first year university student doing an accelerated mathematics degree intending to do a double major with computer science. It is not my intention to brag, but I am the top or at least very close to the top (we aren't actually given our rankings really) in all of my subjects.

I know my career prospects are very good, and I'd like to get as much out of that as possible. Vaguely, I want to do software development, but this is very broad; there are so many different applications of software.

I love mathematics, and even have thoughts of doing academic work someday, but think I'd rather make some good money until later in life. The reason I'm asking is because I want a vision of where I'm heading, so that I can make more informed long term decisions.

    Thoughts?
