When I turned on my pc today I found that Vista was not booting. Normally, I can see the Microsoft loading bar working, this time it shows the loading bar, but nothing happens. I tried starting with the operating disc that came with the pc and it started to load then nothing. I am only able to access the bios and have had to turn off the power 6 times now. It even shows me the "your pc was not shut down properly" warning and do I want to start in safe mode. I say yes and then it goes back to the loading windows page and nothing happens. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I own a small business and have realized my accounting procedures are terrible. I cannot afford a bookkeeper. In researching the internet it appears as the Quicken for home and small business or Intuits Quickbooks are both good programs. Any advise on which one of these to purchase or do you recommend another program?

After several years of marriage my wife choose to leave me. Although I have many positive traits, it is clear that my drinking took a toll on our marriage. Have no doubt, I am clearly at fault. I am working on changing my undesirable behaviors. In the half year that my wife has been away in her home country we have both considered trying to work things out. She is planning a visit soon. My question(s) for all of you is this: Knowing what you know (or what little you know) of our situation, do you think it is proper for either of us to search for or accept the searches of other people on chat programs? More specifically of other people that are single. My specific instance is that of a man from a nearby city has contacted and gained the friendship of my wife and she thinks that this is completely normal and ok. This man has searched for and befriended my wife with the clear knowledge that she is married (it is clearly stated in the Face Book). I find this not only strange, but also improper. Especially considering the fact that we are trying to work things out to be together again. Keep in mind that she has many male friends and I have no problem with this as they have many mutual interests. She has not given me a reason to be jealous in the past, however I am now questioning everything. Any and all "constructive" advise will be appreciated.

My ex wife and I share joint custody of my son. She has physical custody. He has just turned 13 and has been expressing his desire to live with me or at least to live with me every other week. So far it has only been every other weekend. I have always erred on the side of giving in in hopes of keeping the peace as it is more important to me that he grows up with two parents that are civil if not friendly towards one another. However, it is my understanding that sharing physical custody 50/50 is more common these days and it is my desire, of course, to be with him as much as possible. Also, we live within 10 miles of each other. My question:

1. Is every other week 50/50 visitation healthy/unhealthy for him?

2. Any "constructive" thoughts or comments are welcome.

I have considerable credit card dept and do not want to go through bankruptcy. I want to honor my debt, but if possible negotiate a settlement. Any ideas on reputable services that will help me?

Any advise will help! I owe a large amount in past taxes. Have you found any services that are trustworthy that help in negotiating with the IRS.

My son is 12 and very responsible. He wants a myspace. I am very adept at the internet, however, I have not gotten into the myspace or face book stuff. I know the dangers and the pluses. What are your opinions? Both parents and children's answers are welcome.

Also, I will have his password and user name, but is there anything else I should look out for? (other than the perverts and losers?)

I paid almost $700.00 for a 24in widescreen high def pc monitor 16 months ago. Recently it just died! Gateway support said "sorry, not our problem as the warranty was only for one year" I took the monitor to two techs and they both said the mother board was fried. So, it was dead and Gateway could care less. I have sent angry emails to them and created a Gateway Sucks blog, but I want revenge. I want the world to know not to purchase Gateway products. Any ideas?? By the way the 24 in Soyo I purchased to replace the Gateway is great and half the price.

My spouse received her US permanent resident status about a year ago. She has had to return to her country for an extended period of time. I know the USCIS website must have the information I need, but I can't find it. I also don't wish to spend two hours waiting for the USCIS customer service. The question is will my wife loose her permanent resident status if she is out of the USA for too long? Is their a time limit???

I recently purchased a high quality logitech web cam. My windows live messenger recognized it and works great, however my yahoo messenger only shows darkness when I try to use the cam with yahoo friends. Any ideas?

I reformatted my pc months ago. Everything works great, however, when I restart or start up I always receive a message saying that the AA number has not been programmed, please press enter to continue. How do I program this AA number so that I have a smooth start up or restart?

I have made some mistakes with the settings on my administrater user account and wish to transfer all of my files and not my settings preferences to a new user account and delete the one I have been using. Please advise! Thanks, Preston

I am using vista ultimate and have considered purchasing a registry fix type program. Is this worth it or will it cause more problems?

I have a new Gateway with an upgraded Radeon x1950 pro. I have upraded the RAM to full capacity as well as installed a new 550Watt power supply, but still have shut down issues when I try to play more graphically intense games such as oblivion or medieval 2. If I use a low display setting it works well, but I want the best resolution. My pc has a rating of 5.2 with a 5.9 graphics rating. I should be able to play games using the best resolution. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am the administrator for my pc and should have full access, however, everytime I try to open the CCC Catalyst Control Center I am told that I do not have permission and must see the administrator. I have not been denied access to any other program and have gone into properties to make sure that I have full access to no avail. I've reinstalled three times. Any ideas would be appreciated! I'm using Vista ultimate.

I have a fairly new Gateway 2000 GM5424 with an upgraded video card (Radeon X1950pro) and am using windows vista ultimate build 6000. Having played the game oblivion for many hours with no problems, I am now finding that the cpu starts beeping within the first few minutes of gameplay and automatically shuts down after 5 to ten minutes. The computer has never had any other problems except when playing this game. Any advise??? Thanks

I recently purchased a new pc with windows vista as well as office 2007 student and home edition and have found that other people with older versions of office cant open my documents. Does anyone know if their is a patch or a solution for this problem? Thanks
