Heart palpitations, high pulse low blood pressure?
I'm 15 weeks pregnant. In the last week I've been having heart palpitiations, pretty frequently, certainly every hour. I spent last Thursday in the emergency room, they did an EKG when I walked in, it looked good. Drew blood, started me on fluids as I was dehydrated from morning sickness and took a urine specimin. After the fluids finished up they put me on a heart moniter (rythmn and pulse) blood pressure check every 15 minutes and blood oxygen/breath rate. Things had settled down, nothing really showed on the moniter save for a few odd beats, nothing serious. The blood/urine tests were ok. They did CBC and electrolyte panel. The only thing that showed up was some mild ketosis from not being able to keep anything down. I've also had episodes of after eating my pulse will speed up to 95-100 bpm and my blood pressure will be around 105/60. Low for me. At physical therapy the other day after mild excersice my bp was 112/65 (again lower than my normal.)

How do you reset/clear the codes? It failed emission testing and has been repaired. Will disconnecting the battery for a time period reset it?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoCauda equina syndrome or...?
Please read completely before answering... My condition: L2/L3, L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1 all have some degree of extrusion. MRI's Ct's myleogram and spinal tap done, show pinched nerves. Nerve conduction study scheduled for this week. Went to the ER 4 weeks ago, was admitted for fear of Cauda Equina Syndrome. (total loss of bowel and bladder control) Symptoms came back under partial control. Released 3 days later, pain management doc says "nothing we can do right now, go back to ER if incontinence changes and/or develop 'saddle area' numbness"
As of now; the urinary incontinence is different, some incontinence, sometimes complete lack of feeling of needing to void, voiding with difficulty and not able to completly empty bladder. Bowel incontinence not a problem due to chronic constipation. Moderate to severe low back pain. Slight decrease in 'saddle area'(self explanatory there) sensation, but not what I'd call 'numb'. I guess my question is, do I go to the ER? cont...

Quick history, ruptured disks @ L2/L3, L3/L4, L4/L5, L5/S1. Waiting on a nerve conduction study, spinal cord nerves are being compressed, pain, numbness in right leg, incontinence (both). Doc said head straight for the ER if the incontinence gets worse, but I've just started noticing tonight the numbness in my foot is getting signifcantly worse (he didn't say anything about numbness, and the pain getting significantly worse sends me there anyway). Thoughts from anyone w/something similar?
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoMultiple Lumbar spine disc extrusions, degenerative disc disease?
I ~thought~ I had one major problem, a extruded disc @ L5/S1 that pinched the sciatic nerve root. After bouts of loss of bladder and bowel control (sorry for tmi) this weekend, and a stay in the hospital I find that the discs from L2 through S1 are all significantly bulged, S2/S3 slightly and multiple nerves are pinched. Spinal tap, myleogram, Ct all showed it. I'm falling, in constant pain, somewhat incontinent, and having a really hard time dealing. I have 3 small children also. I'm kind of in limbo until we get a nerve conduction test done. The neurosurgeons say they can't do anything. My pain managment doc can only do so much. So, my question, anyone else out there dealing with similar? I'm on Lortab 5 (what a joke, but I HAVE to be able to function for the kids.), Lyrica 100 mg 2/day, Effexor xr (shrink says I'm not clinically depressed, but this can help w/mood some and it may help w/pain), and robax
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoLyrica, how long did it take for you to start noticing any decrease in pain?
I started taking Lyrica for sciatica and neuropathy (non-diabetic, pinched sciatic nerve) 4 days ago and so far it's not doing a thing, in fact my pain level is very near what it is when I need to go to the ER. So, how long does it generally take to start working? Thanks.
4 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoPeanut butter recall, salmonella in pregnancy?
I've had a few bouts of severe vomiting/diahrea/abdominal pain over the last couple weeks and a general 'just don't feel good' feeling. Not bad enough to go to the ER, but very close. I just found out about the recall and sure enough my jar is included (I'm in TN) and I've eaten PB from it coinciding with the time frame for salmonella to kick in (12-72 hours from eating) I'm @ 33 weeks pregnant now. Yes I'm going to call my doctor, just wondering if anyone else pregnant has had this and what if anything your doc did/said?
Thanks
6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoMoms of 3 or more kids?
I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my third child. My first two were girls (one just turned 3 years old, one just turned 1 yr old) this one is ~supposed~ to be a boy. My first came the day before her due date, the second had to be induced 4 weeks early due to low amniotic fluid. 'Convention wisdom' says additional babies tend to come earlier, so my question is: Those that have 3 or more children, at how many weeks was your third child born? Early? Late? FYI: My cycles have always been very regular and the due dates for my first 2 seemed to be fairly accurate.
Thanks in advance.
