  • Help with Maths please - changing a formula?

I am trying to do my Maths homework but am stuck on this one question.

I need to change the formula for volume of a cone V=⅓πr²h so that there are no r's in it.

I know that the radius of this cone is 12 and the hight is 18.

I think it might have something to do with using tan, but I'm not sure.

    Thank you!

  • Late 90s/early 2000s school disco songs?

I am looking to make up a list of the typical school disco music we had back then. I was born in 1994, so am ideally looking for songs which were played in the late 90s/early 2000s.

The songs I have so far are:

    - Shaggy - Angel

    - Steps - 5,6,7,8

    - Superman Party Song

    - Cotton Eye Joe

    - Witch Doctor - ooh eeh ooh ah aah ting tang walla walla bing bang

and some others, but these are the sorts of songs I'm looking for.

It's because me and my friends are planning on having an end of year party in our form room and we want to play some of our 'classic' music. The type of music that you remember the lyrics to and have to sing along, even if it's a bit embarrassing...

  • AS Level Maths - Geometric and Arithmetic sequences?

Please can you help me with this question.

-The first three terms of an arithmetic sequence, a, a+d, a+2d, are the same as the first three terms, a ar, ar^2, of a geometric sequence (a is not equal to 0).

Show that this is only possible if r=1 and d=0.

I understand why this is, as it would not be possible for the values to be anything else, as geometric sequences rise exponentially, but I'm not sure how to 'show' it in my answer.

    Thank you very much.

  • My old best friend's mum died of cancer, what can I say?

On Friday my old friend's mum died of cancer. We were really close at primary school, and I knew and loved her mum. She was an incredible woman and I'm really sad that she's gone, I cried when I heard the news. I haven't seen or talked to the family in years, although I got in touch about a month ago asking if she wanted to meet up, and that was when she told me that her mum's cancer was terminal. I really want to say something, and tell her how sorry I am that her mum has gone; she didn't deserve it, but how can I say it without sounding like I'm just saying it because I feel I have to, and how do I let her know I mean it? What should I say, without feeling like I'm intruding on the family as I haven't seen them in 6 years?

Please help and give me advice.

    Thank you.

  • Please can you give me some song ideas.?

My friend is doing A Level music and her teacher has set her class the task of finding songs from a theme and then arranging them how they would for a group of people (instrumental and singing).

She was given the theme of animals, so she asked me for ideas. What songs do you know with animals in the name, song lyrics, or in the name of the band/singer?

  • Trigonometry functions help please (AS Level)?

I have one more question that I don't understand. I can do it partly, but then I get stuck, please help.

    Solve the equation for 0° ≤ x ≤ 360°:

    sin(^2)x = 2cos(^2)x

    I use sin(^2)x + cos(^2)x = 1 to make the equation

    1 - cos(^2)x = 2cos(^2)x and then rearrange to get

    0 = -1 + 3cos(^2)x but then find that I can't factorise.

    Pleas help me. Thank you

  • Music theory help - time signatures.?

I'm working through my grade 5 theory book and have to add time signatures to a piece, but don't know what to use.

    1) If there are 8 quavers in a bar, that are grouped in two lots of 4, does that make it 2/2?

    2) If there are 12 quavers in the bar, but they are grouped in 4's, does that mean that the time signature is 3/2?

    3) But then later on I have 5 quavers and one quaver rest, the quavers are all grouped together. I have no idea what this one is.

    Please help.
