  • If Scotland votes yes in the referendum, What ......?

If Scotland votes YES in the 2014 referendum

    a) assuming it retains the Queen as Head of State, will there still be a United Kingdom of Great Britain ..... similar to the period between 1603 and 1707?

    b) Interestingly but hypothetically, say Scots chose to become a Republic without the monarchy, Scotland would retain its name but what would the rest of Britain (ie England, Wales & N. Ireland) be called as there would no longer be a United Kingdom?

  • What would Scotland's position be if .....?

    Serious questions on Referendums?

    1. Scots have been promised a referendum on Independence from UK in 2014.

If the result is yes, how long will it take to complete all the negotiations, financial niceties etc with Westminster government? Possibly 2 or 3 years or more.

    2. Conservatives and now Labour seem willing to give British people a referendum on EU Membership.

If British agree to leave Europe, I doubt if it would take that time to negotiate Britains departure for we are fortunately not as heavily committed financially with the Euro as Scotland is with its link to sterling.

If Britain left the EU before all of Scotland’s negotiations with Westminster are complete, where would SNP stand on the European issue? Wouldn’t Scotland be out of Europe too? Wouldn't Scotland have to re negotiate and subject itself to the EURO and then be drawn in to Federal European State?
