Is this anything to worry about?

I've noticed that I not only sing worse when actually playing guitar, but I also sing worse when I just hold it. I'm not sure why. <Maybe it's because I'm automatically slouched over the guitar when I play it? I also usually cross my legs because if I don't the guitar just isn't high enough/close enough to my body. And the leg crossing makes my body less relaxed I guess. Is this stuff a common problem? What can I do against it?

People always say that it takes a ton of luck and it s extremely unlikely to make it (make a living) as a music artist, but is it really a thing that people work on their music for decades, publish a ton but they just nevér become successful?

Like if someone consistently uploaded great music every couple of days for decades, would that person really never be successful enough at all to make a living? It just seems unlikely to me that that s true

Short version: My friend has a huge crush/obsession on a girl he barely knows and who will likely reject him. I think that will lead to him having depression and possibly going as far (although unlikely) as suicide.

My friend used to see this one girl at school, the last time was 5 months ago, since he switched schools after. He hasn't seen her since but he looks at her social media every day, probably every hour.

She doesn't know him at all and he has never talked to his crush. But he is obsessed and even said he thinks he loves her (I think it's just a very intense crush/obsession).

He says that him not being with her makes him sad. He is already quite troubled mentally and has been lonely for years. He has an extreme lack of confidence and as he said, he would get incredibly nervous around her, so i don't see how he would ever have a chance with her.

I still go to class with this girl, so now my friend is asking me to go talk to her and ask if she might be interested in him. I suspect she would not be interested in this guy who lacks confidence, has average looks and has been creeping on her (which she apparently noticed). Her not being interested or even just saying something like "I have a boyfriend" would absolutely crush him. I hink he would fall in a big depression (he says he has some "problems") or (unlikely, but remotely possible) suicide.

What can I do? Is there any way to soften the blow of him not getting to meet his crush?

I ve noticed this with Ed Sheeran the most. He misses plenty of notes quite badly even but it still sounds great to me and everyone else.

Why is this? How can I manage for wrong notes to still sound decent?

For example, Kendrick Lamar ´has less than 400K followers on Soundcloud while Big Sean has close to 10 million. Even though Big Sean reallly isn't more popular or well known than Kendrick Lamar. Why is it then that some artists gain a much larger following than other artists?

In general: What are the odds of making a living as a musician in general? As in, how many people make a living as a musician compared to how many people are trying to make a living as musicians? Are there any official numbers/statistics on this?

My odds:What are the odds of making a living as a musician as a 20 year old who sings and writes own songs with a following on Youtube of about 4000 people? I have gotten very positive feedback at live shows but I still am very unknown and obviously not signed to a record deal or anything. What would you estimate are my odds of making a living?

I find many different sources on how much people work per week with different answers, and usually they only include work from people's full time jobs and no side projects or anything like that (starting a business, studying for school etc.) . Do you have any idea how much most people work? How many hours per week do you work? How many hours do people you know work? Starting at how many working hours would you say that someone is a hard worker?

1: She constantly thinks people hate her for no reason.

for ex. she talked to some guys at a party 3 weeks ago and they got along well. Recently she saw them again and they did not greet her or notice her. She said that the guys couldn't even see her but she still believed that they hate her and that they probably say "Uuuuuh she is ugly, she should get the **** out of here!" about her. She says this with a straight face and examples of her thinking people hate her for ridiculous reasons happen every other day.

2: She apologizes constantly and doesn't seem able to control it.

Example: Recently I said to her "I'm going to go pee" She replied by saying "Sorry" (I wish I were kidding) Examples like this happen regularly. Overall she apologizes to me about once every 5 minutes that I am around her (she apologizes to others just as much) and she does it completely randomly. We have told her that this is unnecessary but it seems to be out of her control.

3: She repeats herself over and over again.

She tells the same people the same stories and same exact sentences over and over again. There is a sentence that she has said over 400 times to me. I have asked her about it and she knew that she told me this stuff before but still told me those things again, for some reason

Overall she is completely illogical in her thinking and is an incredibly socially unskilled person,while being very talkative at the same time

Is this a mental illness? What could it be?

I am a Youtuber who lives in France but almost my enitire audience lives in the States. So it would be really useful to see which terms are searched the most (on my topic) in the States. Can anyone help?

I ve never done anything truly crazy

I used to believe that many people I knew were absolute experts when it comes to stocks but since I have read up on the subject (watching many videos on investing, reading about 5 books about investing incl. "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham) I notice that most people involved in the stock market seem to be absolutely clueless about stocks, even so-called experts. But at the same time I still feel like I'm a beginner, even though I can recognize supposedly very knowledgable people's mistakes.

My question is: how much do you think does the average investor know about investing?

- Are you already average just by being a rational human even without knowing that much about stocks?

- are you average or even above average by just reading one certain book and truly understanding it and practising what it preaches?

- do you need to spend a good part of your day for years at a time learning about investing to be average?

- do you actually need decades of practical experiences in the stock market to be average?

When Warren Buffett buys a stock and people find out later on that he bought it some people will think "Warren Buffett bought this stock, so it must be a good investment". When many people have that same idea then the demand of that stock that Buffett bought initially should rise, and with it the price should rise.

This would lead me to think that whatever stock Warren Buffett buys, its value would automatically rise because so many people believe in what he does and then would want to buy the stock, increasing its price.

Is this part of the reason why Warren Buffett has been so successful?

Shouldn't an increase in taxes hurt the stock market hugely and a tax cut help the stock market hugely? A tax cut would lead to everyone having more disposable income--->more stocks should be demanded--->the stocks' prices should rise

But throughout history just looking at stock indexes I don't see the stock market being affected much by higher taxes (for example in Democratic presidency and senate) or lower taxes.

Aren't the taxes on capital gains also lowered and raised often, which should affect the stock market hugely?

I just want to record myself singing while playing guitar. I see people on YouTube who have pretty good sound despite not singing into a microphone directly but just having an audiorecorder lying around or something. How can I also get this type of sound? (Yes I know that many people on YouTube lipsync but there are some who clearly are singing live, with no microphone in front of their face and it sounds good)

I have a YouTube channel and I don t want to tell people I know about it because I find it slightly embarrassing. I don t even know why. I sing cover songs and my channel only has 1,000 subscribers, with most videos getting only 50-200 views. I feel like the only way I wouldn t be embarrassed by my channel is if I had a huge fanbase of at least 50,000 subs or so.

Would you be embarrassed by a youtube channel? At what point (at which number of subscribers, views) wouldn t you be anymore? Any advice on how to feel less embarassed?

The last two weeks or so I have been waking up in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. I don't need to pee once I wake up, I am not dehydrated or something like that, I don't have any new worries in my life. I just wake up within 4 hours of falling asleep every time and for some reason the back of my head and my neck are always really sweaty when it happens (even though it isn't hot). What could the reason for me waking up be and how can I combat it?
