Hi everyone. My high school is putting on a production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and this is my first musical audition in a long time. I'd like to find some songs to sing at my audition that are 'Beauty and the Beast-esque'. Please keep in mind, I have not done a musical in years, and my voice is not professionally trained. Hi everyone. A few years ago (5-6th grade) I wrote a few paragraphs of a story and recently rediscovered it on my computer. I have no idea where the story line will end up, but I have a few ideas. Please read and comment. Constructive criticism is appreciated! (I'm finishing 8th grade now.)

Dear Maria,

Well, its that time of year. Almost Christmas Eve, the day of the… you know. I still feel so sorry. It was all my fault, and maybe, just maybe, if I hadn’t suggested we go to the Christmas Concert…then you might still be here. Its been three years, and I know I need to move on, but I can’t. And now it’s senior year. Without you. Just do this one thing, Maria – help me. I think with you watching over me, I can get through this year. And it’s sure to be the best year yet.

Lindley folded her paper into two, four, eight squares and tucked it into the waistband of her jeans. With a sigh, she gathered her books and waited for the bell to ring so she could go home and hide between her pillows and blankets.

A cluster of fingers tapped Lindley’s shoulder, making her jump. She turned to see a perfectly white grin and hazel eyes gazing at her. It was Jake.

“Hey, Lind,” he said with a smirk. She sighed.

“Jake! How’s it going?” Lindley questioned as the bell shrieked, marking the end of the day.

“Awful, thanks for asking. The flash drive broke again and Jaiden won’t even look my way!” he groaned as he linked arms with Lindley and sashayed down the hallway to her locker.

“Oooh – too bad!” Lindley teased as they reached her locker.

Jake and Lindley had been friends since childhood – kiddy pool, diaper table childhood. They were best friends, in the guy-girl variety anyways. It was the perfect tale – Jake, the nerdy (but extremely cute) techie and his best friend, Lindley, the all-American girl. They had become closer ever since Maria.. left. As a kid, Lindley always thought of them becoming an IT couple, getting married, starting a family…but that was middle school stuff. They were seniors now, and Jake was hopelessly obsessed with Jaiden Harlow. Perfect hair, eyes, body, personality – at least, that’s all Jake saw in her. But Lindley knew the truth.

“Why are you even into her, J?” Lindley asked, using her old nickname for Jake. “She isn’t worth it. Trust me.”

“Why aren’t you into her? She’s perfect, and one day, she WILL notice me. Can’t you picture it, L? Popular, pretty Jaiden Harlow dating ME, Jake Bishop, AV Club captain and all around bad ***? Match made in Heaven.” He sighed and glanced, yet again, at Jaiden.

Lindley lightly slapped him on the arm. “Snap OUT of it! She’s trash!” Lindley slammed her locker and started walking away.

“Woah, woah, wait, L! L!” Jake jogged up to Lindley and clutched her shoulders. “What’s going on with you? Every year around this time you get edgy. What’s wrong? You can trust me. You can tell me anything.” He pleaded gently.

Lindley glanced down toward the polished linoleum of the hallway. “You know what’s wrong.” She whispered, barely a sound above the chaos in the hall.

“…Maria, right?”

Lindley nodded as tears brimmed her eyes. Suddenly she grabbed him and embraced him, sobbing.

Patting her back, Jake reassured her. “It’s hard L. I knew her too. We all did. Hell, she was my girlfriend back in middle school. But we can’t change the past…You couldn’t have prevented that drunk driver. And thanks to the media, we may never know who was there. But it’s been three years. Three. We need to move on…it’s what Maria would have wanted.”

“It’s too hard.”

“It will be easier.” He gave her a wan smile. “Hey, now, you’re getting tears all over my shirt.”

Lindley couldn’t help but laugh. “Thanks, Jake. Really. Now let’s get out of here.”

So I became friends with this guy named "Ty". Ty is really cool to hang out with, and he always makes me laugh. All of my friends say he likes me.

Me, Ty, and two other friends went to the mall one day, and he wouldn't walk by anyone but me. He literally would drag me by the hand in front of everyone so we would walk just the two of us.

The day after that, I was in computer class (in which he sits right next to me) and was working on an Excel spreadsheet. My friends reported that while I was staring at the computer, Ty would "gaze at me with his hand in his chin".

A week after that, there was a party and I went with a few friends. After dancing for a while, I decided to sit down with someone I knew. Ty was sitting so I sat by him. A song came on and he held my hand and pulled me out on the dance floor with him, where he grinded on me and hugged me. Then that song "Bedrock" came on and he grinded me again, telling me that he could make MY bed rock tonight, followed by him asking me if his "sexy moves" turned me on. (Creepy much?)

At lunch he sits so close to me our legs are touching and I can't move. He texts me literally EVERY DAY. Ty is nice, but the creepiness has to stop. If I know he likes me, I can fix all of this.

Don't you just hate it when you go into a room to get something, and then by the time you get to that room, you forgot what you were going to get, go basically it was an epic fail? This happens to me all the time, and it bugs the snickerdoodles outta me. Does this happen to anyone else? If so, does it bug you to? What are your feelings about it? Thank you to all answerers!

All right, now, I was at our WalMart the other day, and I noticed that all the American Idol stars had albums out or coming out. Kris Allen, who won, had one out. Adam Lambert, who placed second, has one out. Allison Iraheta, who got 4th, is getting hers out Dec. 1. I noticed that Danny Gokey, who placed 3rd, didn't have a CD coming out. So, heres my question(s):

I love Allison Iraheta, but don't you think it's a little odd that the 4th place contestant has an album and Danny, 3rd, doesn't?

Is Danny Gokey making a CD?

If Danny is, when is it coming out?

I got a emachine computer, and I want to use the program Paint, but I can't find it anywhere! Yes, I have gone to start, then all programs, then accessories, and searched for paint, but all I find is something called Snipping Tool. I have clicked on it, and it is not what I'm looking for.

Have you had this problem? What did you do?

I have been thinking about reading The Pact by Jodi Picoult. Some people I know say it's innapproprate for people my age (I am a teenage girl.) I have a friend that chooses me as "second best". We've been good friends since kindergarten and since middle school, she has been hanging out with the "populars". Whenever her spot at the lunch table or wherever is taken, she'll say something like, "My table is full today. I guess I'll sit here." At times she can be ok, but times like this make me want to say something. I don't want to lose our friendship, but I don't want her choosing me and my friends as the second pick. What should I say to her?
